No. This has been gone over and we knew of everyone on the board. Pretty much anyone we'd want is already signed somewhere anyway.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
I don't think so. Leilon Willingham is the last guy we're waiting for, I believe. Coach Hoke said there would only be a few more additions and that was before he heard of the Barnett committment.

How can I avoid downvotes?
Don't be redundant. Don't use stupid nicknames like O$U. Spell things correctly. Don't post useless replies like "I agree" and whatnot.
What happens when I get huge numbers of negative points?
I get dinged and I check your profile out to see if you're pure troll or not, and ban appropriately.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:02 PM ^
Do you think there are any surprise recruits left?
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
If Hoke teams up with Maddison for some last minute recruiting heroics, anything can happen.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:12 PM ^
Maybe..I just don't see anyone out there, though.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:33 PM ^
I really don't think that Mattison is going anywhere recruiting for a bit seeing as he can't even walk...
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:40 PM ^
I didn't mean visits, just working the phone. Maddison on the phone will get a kids attention, even if he doesn't see him in person. That's why even on the IR, the DC could be a VIP in all this IMHO.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:53 PM ^
His name is Greg Mattison
February 3rd, 2011 at 12:19 AM ^
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:55 PM ^
Not a slight at you but I have noticed a couple people spell it this way. It is Mattison.
February 2nd, 2011 at 9:56 PM ^
Nick Saban has a better chance at becoming a decent human being.
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
So....basically what your saying is our chances are slim to none than huh?
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:03 PM ^
Good question. While there is an obvious canidate waiting for the 14th, maybe another is more vulnerable to some last minute nudging? Kouandijio has not sent his loi in yet, Jacoby Brissett is a big 6'5" QB. Long shots at best, but the only non obvious factors left.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:02 PM ^
Obviously, Hoke has Cyrus and Clowney on the phone right now pitchin' the Maize and Blue.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:05 PM ^
Yes, I'll admit to it. But Hoke's surprised us a couple times already, so who knows? Would be nice to pull in another OL. Otherwise we've got a crisis looming in 2013.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:07 PM ^
Does anyone know if Flavin sent in his LOI today? If not then I would say there is a pretty good chance with him.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:08 PM ^
Went in this morning.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
A "what if" but since we're here, let's say we get Clowney and lose out on Willingham, how would that affect UM's outlook for ranking and expectations for next season?
Would it affect overall recruiting rankings much?
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:17 PM ^
You lost me when you seriously suggested getting Clowney. I like to dream too but it isn't happening. Better chance of Tom Brady, Charles Woodson, Mike Hart and LaMarr Woodley all finding they have eligibility and deciding to all come back next year.
February 3rd, 2011 at 12:21 AM ^
A "what if" but since we're here, let's say Jesus Christ himself decides he wants to wear the maize and blue next season. DO you guys think we would get any extra points on rivals because of the whole "Son of God" thing? Just wondering.....
February 3rd, 2011 at 8:03 AM ^
they would tar and feather Brian Kelly and run him out of town on a rail. A guy can dream can't he?
February 3rd, 2011 at 8:24 AM ^
Can't hit a curveball, what makes you think he can tackle?

FYI, JC is projecting on offense at WR. Great at going up for the ball. Did you see him get nailed a cross the middle where his QB left him hanging?
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
What happens to these kids that get the short end of the stick from the SEC. I gotta think that there are recruits with potential in there somewhere. Maybe some with a chip on their shoulder as well.
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
step in. There are a cadre of FCS programs down there ready for those not granted medical hardships.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
Willingham would be a surprise commitment! Be happy with the bevy of Junior Commitments, that could be taking place in the coming months. =}
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:17 PM ^
If I told ya, then it wouldn't be a surprise, would it ;)
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
Our two most unlikely 2011 guys were Countess, with all the pressure on him from so many other schools and the grabbing of Bellomy from TX. Arguements for others as more unlikely could also be made.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
hasn't closed for the night?
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:30 PM ^
I realize that the depth at guard took a hit with Campbell and Washington moving to DT, but guard is the least of our worries. I'm pretty sure Khoury could play OG if needed. And perhaps even Pace. And if there was a total rash of injuries you'd just move one of the DT guys back and be okay.
Tackle is more concerning since Posada is not likely going to play tackle at this level and that leaves us with only three players. As we saw the past two years, you're going to need at least one back-up tackle as the season goes on. I suppose Omameh would be the 4th string tackle.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:34 PM ^
Besides, Denard was the biggest surprise and the biggest "recruit" of Hoke's tenure so far. Anything else that happens is gravy.
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:35 PM ^
teammates regardless of who DB hired. To hear Cooper's take and the stone faces of players at Hoke's meet and greet - these guys have each other and that is the only constant. I don't think you can credit Hoke for DRob's character. Plus the timing did not allow any athlete to realistically consider their options. Post a 3 strikes spring and summer Michigan should be a different team in the fall. That much I think is fair to attribute to Hoke.
February 2nd, 2011 at 10:38 PM ^
I read on this blog within the last week or two that next year there is better talent coming up within the state of Michigan. Maybe it is not so bad to have a few more schollies available for a top ten class next year.
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:30 PM ^
You'd be correct sir. There should be a lot of talent in Michigan next year and not just Michigan but Indiana, Illinois and Ohio especially all should be rich in talent. I really like our chances in having an impressive class next year, it should be a lot of fun to watch how it all plays out!
February 3rd, 2011 at 12:52 AM ^
Ohio should be a goldmine again next year, and not just for OSU. The fact that Hoke cracked the Glenville fortress after RR's and LC's banishments is very promising indeed.
February 3rd, 2011 at 9:07 AM ^
FYI, RR wasnt banished. Only LC was. RR got visits from Glenville kids, just not commits.
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
No. The Hoke 20 is all she wrote. Very proud if our staff and current players that didn't give up and helped us with a couple guys.
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:19 PM ^
Clowney announces on his birthday for... Michigan! In all seriousness our only shot at this point seems to be Willingham. Although at this point that seems to be looking unlikely with the recent rumors.
My life now awaits Junior days and the class of 2012! Why did i get into recruiting...
February 2nd, 2011 at 11:34 PM ^
Mattison with Clowney would be so fun. Too bad we never had a shot with him.
February 3rd, 2011 at 12:07 AM ^
Desmond Howard Jr. is committing at age 8.

and talk to OL Cyrus Kouandjio. He was an Auburn verbal but never sent in his LOI. Now seems confused about what to do. He's too good not to make a run at given the circumstances. The worst thing that can happen is Cyrus goes elsewhere and Hoke increased his carbon footprint.
February 3rd, 2011 at 9:08 AM ^
I was wondering if there is any truth behind James Ross' twitter feed?
