MMB beats Harvard 65-62
A rather ugly basketball game, but they came out with the win. Stu carried the day with 19 pts, and 5-7 behind the arc. Novak and Morris had solid games as well.

That explains why the score was so close.

Harvard doesn't really have a marching band, since they don't really have a football program. So while there are plenty of musically talented Harvard students, our marching band would win in a blowout.

i think he meant Michigan's Mens Basketball

thanks for clearing that up.

I swear, I don't remember going to school on a basketball scholarship. Maybe if I was, like, a foot taller.....?

Stu had a great game. 19 points and 5-7 on three pointers.

I may not be up to speed on my Harvard basketball, but didn't Harvard go dancing last year? Good win by the team, and if that is true, then this is encouraging for Michigan.

That's right. Getting my damn Ivy League schools mixed up.

Cornell was the only team from the Ivy League in the tournament IIRC. Still a good win though

Harvard didn't go dancing last year, but they did go 21-8, which was the most wins in program history. They also played in the third-tier CIT tournament, making their first postseason appearance since 1946.
I suppose you could view this as an ugly win, but I see it as a good comeback victory against a pretty solid opponent.

Having played on a few IM basketball teams made up of MMB kids... Not impossible, but certainly implausible.

Harvard will have a good record and help the RPI....
Go Blue!

Hopefully, at the end of the year our RPI matters.

is a win

This would have ended in one of those bad loses with some of our teams from the past. Credit these guys for getting it done. Best game of the year for McLimans and Vogrich. Key baskets by both and improved defense. Having some depth and multiple scorers is going to be nice this year, especially when we play so many Freshmen.
My admiration for Morgan and Novak grows with every game.

Against a solid team. Harvard's #44 could be a very good post player in the Big Ten.

<br>Memo to Michigan hoops players - be ready for passes from Morris, anytime, anywhere. The guy can dish it.

The basketball team should win almost all of their games before conference play begins. Lets Go! Dark Horse, Baby!

6-2 after Concordia game. Utah is sort of a toss-up game, but it's at Crisler so that's better than playing at Utah. North Carolina Central should be a win. Oakland will be interesting. Bryant should be a win.
Michigan should be 11-2 before the Big Ten season starts with Purdue as an opener. It remains to be seen how Michigan will fare against Big Ten teams. The Big Ten is very tough and I would probably expect 6 wins which isn't too bad considering the youth of the team. That would make Michigan a .500 team which would exceed the expectations IMO.

We play 12 games before the Big Ten schedule starts. The 13th OOC game - Kansas - comes a week later.
