Kudos to RR: 7-3

Submitted by MGrether on

For all the crap that has happened this off season, there are 1000 reasons why this season could have completely gone into the tanks. From losing 3 recruting classes worth of Secondary players, to the NCAA investigation, all the questioning about his job, continual rotation of injuries... RR has our boys 7-3 with a garunteed winning season and a bowl game.

This is not where we want to be as a final product. It has not been pretty. However, these are steps in the right direction of getting there, and I am looking forward to seeing the product that steps out onto the field in 2011-2012, and us making a run for the first championship in the new Big X(II).

Now, let's get our heads wrapped around Wisconsin coming to town next Saturday, and the chance for an 8 win season!

Just a few weeks ago Rich Rod said "We aren't good enough to win when we make mistakes".  Well, the last two weeks we've made plenty of mistakes, but we've pulled out two tough wins.  I see that as improvement.

that we lost Denard, Tate, and Devin. That is basically what has happened to Purdont. I am not putting a lot of stock in this win. I will take it, and if you are well that is great for you. I am not saying you are wrong I am just choosing not to think the same way you do.

I thought the defense would progress a bit more through the season but injuries and youth have set it back a bit. There also may be some defensive coaching issues that I'll let the head coach resolve!  It would be great to get another win!  If the offense plays a perfect game next week against WI and we can get ahead and stay ahead we will have a chance.  I hope we play our best game of the year against OSU!

RR haters should just give it up now.  He's coming back next year.  Nice to see the team win ugly under difficult circumstances.  Starting to see some defensive potential for next year.

Here's one way of looking at it: everyone agrees that the offense had a poor day. But we still moved the ball for 400 yards. Despite five turnovers. In a monsoon. That's not nothing.

Finished article? Of course not. Moving in the right direction? Definitely.

A tough day for the haters, mind you.

We are in the midst of a novel, if you will.  We read the back-cover and foreward and were intrigued.  The first couple chapters were a little slow because they were defining the characters and setting up the plot.  The next few chapters kind of sucked and some people wanted to put the book down.  Others felt like they had devoted this much time reading it that it would be a waste to put it down now.

Lo and behold, the last couple chapters have become intriguing.....the pages are starting to turn a little faster and the plot is thickening.

I'm glad I didn't put the book down.  I'm excited to keep reading because it looks, to me, like a possible best seller.
