Their best play is "let the 6'4 pocket passer scramble." There are some fantastic picture pages posts on Shaggybevo breaking down the epic fail that is their offensive scheme. They probably honestly hate Greg Davis more than we hate GERG.

Look at the box score. Your head will asplode.

The first thing I noticed was that the KSU QB was 2 for 5 passing for 9 yards. And they won by 25 points. Not sure I've ever seen such a thing.
November 7th, 2010 at 7:44 AM ^
I didn't catch any of this game until the second half, but when I turned it on the first thing that I saw after the score was this stat line:
Passing Yards - Texas: 140ish Kansas State: 0
The score was 31-0. I've never seen anything like that.

Michigan 22, Ohio State 0 in 1976, when I was ten. Leach was 0 for 6 with an interception.
I think they'd have had another two touchdowns if not for Leach's interception (which is in the Wolverine Historian video below) and what I remember as a fumble (which is not in the video). You can get away without being able to pass if you can rush for 366 yards and shut out the opponent.

Also, it's totally not your day when you block an extra point and the kicker picks it up and runs it in for two.

November 6th, 2010 at 11:18 PM ^
Reminds me of the '05 PSU game where the Lions botched the snap on a PAT, only to have the kicker run it in for 2 points.
On second thought, "lol" probably wasn't the best subject for this post.

Look at the stats. Kansas State threw 4 times for 9 yards?! Yet Texas still gives up 260 yards rushing... Also, Texas outgains KSU by 100 yards but Gilbert's FIVE picks give the game away. FIVE?!?!?!?!?!?! Jesus Christ.
What happened to Texas going back to the old school, hard nosed running game? They threw for 45 times today...
November 6th, 2010 at 11:10 PM ^
that Kansas State has the worst run defense in the country.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:18 PM ^
Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Wyoming, and Washington State would like you to show them some respect.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:07 PM ^
Could we possibly be matched up against them in a bowl game? I know it's very early but it would be great exposure with such storied programs and recruits would be watching.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:14 PM ^
The wealthy Longhorn alums would get a good look at our offense, fire Mack Brown and immediately offer Rich Rodriguez a new contract of $10 million a year for 10 years to be their new head coach.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
It's be pretty epic if the bowl were in Texas and UM won.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:29 PM ^
They are going to have a heck of a time getting bowl eligible.

Hey Mack. Why don't you and Brian Kelly come on over and take a whirl on that infamous coaching hot seat we heard so much about around here lately.
Rich won't be needing it any more..
November 6th, 2010 at 11:12 PM ^
is that the all-time wins record pace at which texas was charging at us is slowed. we are +2 this year after being -9 in 2008 and -8 in 2009. They have 845 wins and we have 883. So I'm not sad we are putting some distance between them.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:13 PM ^
I'm in grad school down here at UT (Michigan alum for life obv) and it's very surreal. If you told me before the season that Michigan would have a better record than Texas 9 games into the season i would have jumped on that bet in a heartbeat.
It's a very weird feeling being down in Austin with so few people caring about the season though. Their anger seems to be directed at the offensive coordinator though - seems to be their play calling has been very vanilla and/or they're trying to fit Gilbert into McCoy's offense.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:37 PM ^
gilbert and brantley talk to each other every night after practice about how many times addazio and davis call them tim and colt on accident
November 6th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
I don't know why I can't stop watching this game.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
Also lack of a red zone offense has killed them. In that UCLA game I think they had 6 points in their first four red zone trips, and it hasn't really changed this season.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
A loss for Texas, is a win for UM
November 6th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
They're just giving everyone a big old helping of schadenfreude. For this I thank them.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:15 PM ^
McCoy and Shipley left but even then I didn't see them struggling this bad
Gilbert is really, really, really bad.

Just a matter of time before Colt's little bro starts throwing TD's to Jordan's little bro.

I think Texas fans blame these things:

November 6th, 2010 at 11:51 PM ^
clearly doesn't care about out of state recruiting. He must be like the complete oppositve of RR or something
November 7th, 2010 at 1:14 AM ^
...and Mack Brown is a very good recruiter.
The biggest problem that Texas has on offense is that they haven't been a very good running team in some time. It's okay when you have a super-accurate passer (Colt McCoy) but even then he was their best running threat, which hurt them in the BCS "championship game" against Alabama last year.
November 6th, 2010 at 11:20 PM ^
shit they are getting killed. I expected Kansas State to win, but not like this
