Wishful thinking: Turner coming back?

Take about a month for JT to be halfway ready! Not going to happen! Sorry

Without being an insider, I'd say this has a .3 percent chance of happening. He's gone. It's not your fault.
It's not your fault.
...
It's not your fault.

There's ALWAYS A CHANCE!

Spied on my conversation with Jennifer Aniston. I feel so violated.

sadface :(

Wait, Turner wanted to be higher on the depth chart? I thought he came into fall overweight. Doesn't seem to add up...
August 18th, 2010 at 12:05 AM ^
That would say a lot about his character, "Oh yeah I could be a starter now so I'll play now," and the coaches would have nothing of it, whether they need him or not.

I took Turner's departure to be a positive incident. Either RR essentially told him he didn't have the ethic to hack it at Michigan or Turner saw himself completely buried on the depth chart and left. Whatever the case, I think the CB position is much better off than we all think it is, with much more parity.
I don't want anybody on the team that doesn't want to give 100%, so I stand by my initial reaction: good riddance, Turner.

would not want Turner back. What kind of a message does it send when someone quits the team and then returns a week later after a teammate that is higher on the depth chart than him gets injured and he is let back on the team? Not to mention, what would it say about Turner as a competitor? I think it paints a pretty bad picture if this hypotehtical scenario were to play out.

message but we may have the thinnest depth at CB in america...

"Those who stay will be champions." I don't believe anything was mentioned about those who leave...

Not unless you count the guy who wrote in that "those who don't become doctors, lawyers and other important people." Of course, he was assuming they were at least staying at the university so all bets are off I guess.

Can we please put this meme to rest? Bo is dead. Let's not drag his name or his sayings through the ether more than we have to.

He's dead so we should shy away from using his name and sayings? That's some... interesting logic. How was this an example of "dragging" anything through the "ether"? He's not being bad-mouthed or mocked, only quoted. This specific phrase is a bit overused among Michigan fans (we've unfortunately had much occasion to invoke it recently), but there's nothing inherently wrong with pulling it out.

Perhaps RichRod will reconsider J.T. Turner returning to UMfootball, but there is probably a better chance getting a walk-on, or a transfer from USC trojans, who are on umpteen years probation from the NCAA.
Anyone want to stand in USC quad with sign seeking - Cornerback transfer for food, drink and whatever. (Hopefully, not another NCAA violation, but at this point, we're desperate.)

I'd gladly take him back. Hell, he can room with me if he needs a place to live. He's a young kid, facing adversity on the football field he isn't used to, I'll cut him the slack he needs.
JT - PLEASE come back.
August 18th, 2010 at 2:51 AM ^
I wish. Otherwise it's Cullen Christian and random 3 star guy in the back field come September.

18 days is not enough time to "play into D-1 football shape."
Woolfolk is a terrible, terrible loss, but it just means someone is going to have to step up. If there is any position that a freshman can play without being at too much of a disadvantage, it's CB, because speed matters more than that extra ten-fifteen pound sheath of muscle that most players seem to put on their first year.
I would bet that among the freshmen, there are a couple of players who are working their asses off every day, and would love the chance to earn a start against UConn. They will make their rookie mistakes, but raw talent helps a lot, too.
Once again, this does suck, but I don't think anyone on the team is throwing in the towel on the season yet, so neither will I.
August 18th, 2010 at 5:05 AM ^
With Woolfolk out we have Cullen Christian and JT Floyd at CB for the season. While it isn't optimal, nothing about this year was going to be optimal in the defensive secondary. Let's hope Woolfolk can recover and have a long career ahead of him. For now let us move ahead with what we have and hope for the best.
Go Blue.

This reminds me of Coach Winters bringing back Bobby Collins in the Program after Kane goes to rehab.

I was waiting to wake up this morning and see a post about Turner coming back. And sure enough, here it is! Seriously, no way in hell.

I have been watching Michigan football for 30 yrs now and I am really excited for another season. Unfortunately injuries are part of the process. This one will be just as exciting as the rest. The Men in Blue will make us proud to be a Wolverine fan. The Team The Team The Team will prevail.
GO BLUE....rip UCONN !!

If you ever accidentally drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let 'em go, because man, they're gone.
