Daren Kitchen Offer
There is an article on Scout about Louisiana CB Daren Kitchen. In it he mentions that Michigan has given him a verbal offer, but he hasn't heard from Rich Rod yet. I know TomVH mentioned pretty much the same thing a week or so ago so I'm wondering, is this a "commitable" offer? Or is the fact that he still hasn't heard from Rich Rod a sign that he's more of a backup plan at this point? I, for one, would love to see him join this class.

I think it might be cause Rich Rod's on vacation? That's what I heard I think...
was on vacation at the time when the offer was first put on the table to kitchen, that was a few weeks ago... plus if you read the "kellen jones commitment quotes" from tom you'll see that kellen and his family were in rich rods office talking to him when he commited... so i take that as he is back from vacation...
or he took them on vacation with him. I am sure this is something the NCAA would frown upon.
Touche...
but he is back now, I'm pretty sure. It's damn close to practice time, so I'd think he's back now. Also there's another thread about him being on the radio yesterday
and Kitchen is quoted as saying he's spoken to Coach Jackson and expects the papers "in a week or two." If he's not worried, let's hope he's right.
I think he is in the same boat FL CB Travis Williams was in a year ago.
....there's another DB in the wings we do not know about yet...
If he were more than a backup plan, he would have a written offer by now.

so Magnus do you think he'll eventually get that offer? or do you not expect him to be part of the class?
He might get an offer, but the fact that he said several weeks ago that he received a verbal offer and the official offer would be in the mail soon...
...and it still hasn't reached him...
...tells me that the coaches aren't thrilled with what he brings to the table.
Maybe its being delivered by horse. Just asking for your opinion, who would you want to see in the secondary. Enjoy the Countdown. Thanks.

I'd like to add a top-of-the-line cornerback like Doran Grant, but that's not likely. I'm not a huge fan of the corners we currently have committed, but oh well.
Valdez Showers (CB) and Avery Walls (S) would be good additions. I'm also high on Wayne Lyons, Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, and Charles Jackson, but those are less likely.

What do you think about Crawford?

I like Crawford better than some of our current commitments. He's a hitter and he can run. I'd probably take him over Showers, but I feel like Crawford is tied to Sammy Watkins, and I don't think Watkins is coming here. Not that they're a package deal, but if Watkins isn't coming north, then I figure Crawford will stay somewhere down south, too.

Crawford and Watkins are not really insisting on playing together. I do agree that there's almost no chance Watkins comes here.
we're in on bigger fish right now including in stater Valdez Showers and top 2 for Dallas Crawford. Given that Kitchen has stated he'd commit on the spot I would guess that written won't be coming anytime soon.
