It begins....This is going to be epic.
Pulling for Lesner. The guy is a phenom!
If he was less of an asshat and more respectful of his opponents I'd be more inclined to respect his considerable abilities. He's good and he'll let you know.
WOW WOW WOW. Sotiropoulos dominated that fight, but he just got saved by the bell. If there was any more time on the clock it looked like Pellegrino was going to end it after that knee. What a start. Excellent fight.
I like that part where he said that he was concious the whole time after basically flipping over following the knee and then getting cracked again. He's lucky there was not another 5 seconds in the round.
As an aside I give him zero chance against the next level of fighter in the division (i.e., Florian, Penn etc.)
Hah, yea...he was definitely saved by the bell. Any longer and that fight was over. He really needs to improve his stand up and take down offense, or he won't last a single round against the likes of Penn and KenFlo.
It is brutal but beautiful. Also, keep in mind that it is less harmful than boxing. It looks far more brutal than it actually is...
It was better in the begining. It was more like WWE but with real fighting. You had all these different characters with different fighting styles and they even had less rules when it first started.
I know what you mean, but I have to disagree. While it was super fun to watch a self-proclaimed Ninja from Texas get his head knocked off by a Mui Thai boxer, I love how the sport has sort of morphed into it's own fighting style where everyone has to be adept at both brawling and grappling to an extent.
what a finish by Bonnar...spectacular.
Holy shnikes. Spoke too soon. What a finish, what a fight. This is shaping up to be one of the best cards I've ever seen, and I've seen quite a few of them.
He might have just saved his career with that KO.
Chris Lytle vs. Matt Brown up next. Who ya got? Lytle in 2 (Going for broke. I know it will probably end in 1 but I'm going against popular thinking). KO.
P.S. Gambling is fun. :)
EDIT: Lights Out by submission. Wow, that was nasty.
Spot on with your prediction.
I wish...I was hoping/thinking KO. I never saw the armbar/triangle choke combo coming. Hah. That was insane.
EDIT: Still took home the money though. :)
Does Rogan, Dana White et al. have to indicate that every fight will be "fight of the night". God dammit that's annoying.
Agreed. All of the fights have been good so far, but the hyperbole has been a tad out of control. The fights speak for themselves. There is no need to embellish.
Akiyama has a hell of a chin.
You have GOT to be kidding me. Insanity. This fight has been out of control.
HO-LY SHIT!
And of course it's "another" fight of the night.
Carwin and Lesnar could fight, create peace in the Middle East, reduce taxation, explore Mars and that would still be fight of the night.
That was phenomenal. He won the 3rd from his back, anyway.
Here is what we've all been waiting for...time to go to war. This will be the fight of the night, regardless.
Lesnar has more of a chin than I would have predicted.
VRGBJRFEKFRB K5GRFEVB H6KFEFB 5!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Is the only way to describe that exchange thus far. Holy shit. How can one man take such a beating? Unbelievable...
Carwin may have punched himself out. If Brock comes back from that he is a GOD.
I am so going to out-hyperbole Goldberg and Rogan.
Carwin was teeing off on Lesnar. I'm shocked he survived that beating
I was of the opinion they might have stopped it in the 10 - 8 first round; credit to Lesnar for the win.
Fight of the night! Fight of the year! Holy shit! Unbelievable! Unbeatable! Unstoppable! The Juggernaut! Brock Lesnar! Worth every penny!
The UFC hype machine may well give that fight of the night but, realistically, that Leben/Akiyama fight was just insane and should realistically be considered for fight of the year.
I most enjoyed the Bonnar/Sosynski fight tonight, myself.
There were some good fights on the card, but I don't think any of them were fight of the year material. It's gonna be tough for any fight to beat out the Korean Zombie vs Leonard Garcia.
Also, I think both Carwin and Brocks weaknesses were exposed, it's just hard for anyone else who doesn't have their massive size to expose them. I think Junior dos Santos' all around game will give them problems.
WHat a warrior Lesnar is. The guy almost died last year, comes back, survives that onslaught in the 1st round and wins like that. Just WOW!
Who is your avatar?
please let me know.
Ok, after further investigation, read some forum where some guys were talking about her and they figured out who she is. She is a model that goes by the aliases Jenny P and Penny Mathis.
the underboob...
I have no idea who she is. I found this photo on russian mobile phone site. It's currently my wall on my phone. I even bumped Megan Fox off the phone for this babe.
I just googled hot chick with a gun and here she is again.
Finding more photos of her on this Holy Taco website.
There is no way to describe how Unbelievable the fight was. Lesnar got rocked by Carwin in the first and laid on his back the whole first round. Took an inhuman amount of punches to the face. Carwin unloaded on him the entire first round. He absolutely destroyed Lesnar's face. Lesnar somehow survives. Second round...boom Lesnar takedown. Arm triangle. Game over. End of story. UN-BE-LIEVABLE!
...doesn't cover football particularly well, either.
I wasn't able to watch the fight tonight due to work and family, but I appreciate the info that was given on all the fights! Much easier and more timely to check here than at other sites!
Looking forward to downloading and watching in the near future (hopefully tomorrow or Monday)!
Happy and safe 4th!
It is nice knowing that the baddest s.o.b. on this planet couldn't earn the job of being Steve Hutchinson's bitch.
Super amounts of class with that post. Hutch would shit himself if Lesnar were to come after him. Dumb comment by you. Even dumber avatar.
WTF are you talking about? The above poster was talking about Brock Lesnar's tryout to play defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings.
In a comment regarding Lesnar saying that he himself is the "baddest SOB on the planet," it's suddenly not classy to say that Lesnar would have been Hutchinson's "bitch" on the Vikings? Are you concerned about Lesnar's feelings or something?
Dumb comment by you.
My next day analysis of the Lesnar Carwin fight is that the devil in Lesnar gets his due. It's interesting, in retrospect, to look at the decision Fedor Emelianenko made last year not to join the UFC (various reasons, it seems) and one wonders if he had some idea that competing against 300 lb athletes like Lesnar/Carwin was a bad idea (particularly regarding his then undefeated streak).
The future of the heavyweight division is not likely the smaller athletes like Couture or even a 235 lb. Emelianenko but likely this evolving group of large heavyweights. Aside from all of this...who knew Lesnar had a chin?
