Best way to watch UM Football overseas?
Best to get at least two perspectives before deciding.
Really, how that works here is someone give an opinion to the tune of "You should do _________" and then the response is "That person is currently under treatment. THIS is how you should do __________". Even better, as I took down the duplicate, all that gets to happen in one thread.
Otherwise you can get ESPN+, I don't think that you can subscribe BTN2Go without cable subscription.
I think the ESPN app or any app where you sign in through a cable provider is geo-locked. I haven't tried it, but using a VPN might be the only to stream using those apps. I'm not sure if any of these companies are using a sophisticated VPN detection software like Netflix.
Longtime expat here and someone who never misses a game.
Your best choice is to set-up a Slingbox in the US before you leave, but it needs to be set-up where someone can monitor and fix it if needed and where the person will also always watch the game.
Other options are:
1) BTN2Go International - this is a pay package and is excellent, but only shows the BTN games live. Non-BTN games are available for streaming usually after midnight ET.
2) US Cable Package + VPN - if you have a login for a US cable package you will need a VPN with a US server to access the streams as they block from non-US IP addresses
3) USTVNow - is a free service for games on CBS or NBC, you can pay extra to get ESPN and to get a record function

4) ESPN Player - is another pay service for games on ESPN. It is not available in Asia, but maybe in Guam? I pay for the services and then access it via the VPN from a server in Europe
5) Armed Forces Network - I guess you will have access in Guam and they will show most of the bigger games
Hope this helps and watch out for those hilitai down there!
as it is a US territory.
There is a local cable company there, though.
The OP should just pony up for You Tube TV and run a VPN if it is blocked (probabky won't be on Guam).

I saw this mentioned in a thread from a few years back. If you don't already have a VPN, UofM offers a free one to all students, faculty, and alumni (http://its.umich.edu/enterprise/wifi-networks/vpn). I was overseas the past football season and that VPN plus my family's cable account let me watch all of the games.
I use Slingbox and love it.
you say stationed... if you are on a military installation, a lot of providers will allow you to connect to their web apps from your on post IP address without the restrictions (at least in the European version of overseas). Look into it and find a good friend with a password.
If you don't know where to look, start a thread
a 4 hour facetime session.
There will be a thread prior to each game.
I ran it during the basketball tournament, worked out pretty well.
Armed Forces Network was pretty solid for carrying M Football games. I filled it out by also getting an ESPN International package - this was 6 years ago so and I'm sure the streaming prices and content are all a ton more confusing now.
