Local teams should always be aired on local television in addition to whatever channel carries their game nationally.

This is a point and laugh at the loser thread. Can anyone explain to me why there isn't some clause,of some sort, that puts local teams on local television? I get it $ over everything, but I'm the idiot that got convinced by his wife to cut the cord and now I have zero access to channels like TBS,TruTV, and TNT. I also live in the middle of nowhere now and the only internet provider I have access to has data limits. And God forbid, I stream the tournament, eat up all the data, and deprive my wife of her favorite Canadian horse ranch drama. Again point and laugh at the idiot, but I just want to such Michigan play.

I never knew it was such an embarrassment of riches to have a 6 mbps unlimited data home internet plan. Sucks to be you, bro.

Also, what cell plan are you on that doesn't have unlimited data that you can use as a hotspot? My kids stream crap to the iPad through my phone every single minute of every road trip we go on.

You expect CBS to adjust which station show which games all in an effort to make cord cutting less personally inconvenient? That would be a stupid decision on two levels. 1. It lowers their revenue by encouraging wire cutters 2. It lowers their revenue by not allowing them to sell ads nationwide that reach every household. Other than that, it’s brilliant.

You have several options, most of which are mentioned above.

  1. Go to the bar. The cost of a couple beers, maybe some nachos, is way, way, way less than a cable subscription. I have done this for many years. I have gone to the bar a couple times this year. The cost so far? Maybe $20 each time. Money well spent.
  2. Get Sprint. Unlimited data. I don't need unlimited data myself. But my 16 year old twins, especially the boy, go through it.
  3. With the March Madness App, my son streamed the game, and used blutooth so we could watch it on the HD 57" TV. As mentioned, this is only good for 3 hours. However, I mind less being out on Saturday at the bar, if necessary. And I'm assuming if we make it to the Sweet Sixteen, all games will be on CBS.
  4. You need to work on things with your wife. Canadian Horse Dramas? Smh. The way I finesse this is to pick and choose when I actually go out to the bar. I don't watch every game, and I limit my non-Michigan sports content. My better half is a converted Michigan fan, and will often watch games with me. Good luck.

You know what they say about those who assume... :)

Sweet 16 / Elite 8 are split between CBS and TBS (keep in mind, you still have two games going on at the same time in the Sweet 16).

The Final Four is on TBS this year.

when you stream from NCAA MArch Madness live on your laptop, you get 3 hours of any channel for free.  After that you need to login with your TV provider.  For whatever reason, when I cast it on my chromecast from my laptop to my tv it stops registering the time spent watching.  So I basically am getting billed for the 3 seconds of choosing a game and casting it.  I watched 5 hours of basketball real time for a combined 12 seconds of Free Preview March Madness time.  I may be able to get through most of the tourney this way lol

Not sure if this is some technical glitch in their system or that my chromecast is messing up, but I dont have cable so I'm not complaining.

Wait so if I'm at work and I watch it on the actual website, cbssports, I can only watch for 3 hours before I have to pay?

If the only thing you want to watch is UM sports and be able to surf the internet, it'll cost you $150/month. There is no in between all channels (which is required to get bball and fb) and no channels.

I will try my best to avoid politics here, but it seems a little odd that you made a choice to stop a service, such as cable, that would have allowed to watch the UM game and are now asking for some other actor (through "a clause" or something similar) to fix your choice to make it less impactful on you.

It's absolutely fine if you want to cord cut, but this is one of the consequences of that decision, plain and simple.
