Not sure how I feel about that.  I know the Big Ten is down this year and the committee doesn't consider conference standings or records per se, but it seems a little harsh to leave out a team that finished 4th in the Big Ten with a 13-5 record.

The unbalanced schedule really affected Michigan (negatively) and MSU and Nebraska (positively) this year.  Also, Nebraska has zero out-of-conference wins of note, so while they may be 13-5 in the Big Ten, that's really all they have going for them.

The committee claims that they don't look at conference record, and Nebraska is a great example of why.

I was starting to not dislike PSU beyond football...but glad to see my distaste has a reason to return. I hate the fact that Michigan will have to play an extra game because this mediocre Nebraska team caught them at the end of a rough stretch.

I know Michigan loses the tie breaker due to losing to Nebraska in their only head-to-head. However, lets say UM beat NU and they finished 13-5 and 1-1, how do they then determine 4 or 5 seed?

if you are in a two way tie with someone and also went 1-1, i believe you start at the top of the overall standings, and the first person who has a higher win that the other one doesn't, wins the tie breaker... we'd be in good shape in this situation with our wins over MSU and OSU

34-17 at halftime. That game is over.

Meanwhile, Luke List is booting the ball all over the 18th hole in a playoff against Justin Thomas.

List would have secured a tour exemption until 2020 with a win.

Great tournament notwithstanding.

One game that *is* over is Colorado beating UCLA again.

Keep in mind, Michigan was well up on PSU on Wednesday at half and gave it all back within the first four minutes.  PSU is capable of a run.  The odds aren't good -- ESPN has them at about 5% -- but it's hardly impossible.

15 Clemson lost earier this week at unranked VT
14 Arizona lost last night at unranked Oregon
12 Auburn lost yesterday at unranked Florida

Last week we saw a 5 spot jump, I wouldn't be surprised if we were 12 or 13 when the rankings come out tomorrow.

Hopefully we learned how to Attack them on O. Roby is a small center. Quick enough to guard Mo. 1st meeting was the worst offensive game for UM I remember this year. Hope Mo can take him down on the block. Unfortunately that's the weakest part of his game.

How do pretty much all teams in the Big 10 get home cooking officiating but us? Like Nebraska? What have they ever done in basketball? Yet they get a ton of questionable calls at home. Curious why UM doesn't get this home court treatment?

The only way Michigan could possibly miss Nebraska would be either (a) PSU completes an epic comeback, and then Nebraska loses to the #12 or #13 seed, or (b) Michigan loses to the #12 or #13 seed.

Since the possible #12 & #13 seeds, depending upon the result of tonight's Northwestern / Iowa game, are Iowa, Rutgers, and Illinois... I'd say you've got a pretty good chance to have your wish come true.

This is exactly why the "eye test" isn't used.  If you used the "eye test," you'd have 70 at-large bids.  They have two bad losses (@Illinois, vs/@ UCF), and one good win (vs. Michigan).  Everything else is "blah."  Their next best win is either vs. PSU (now over) or @Wisconsin.  They have exactly 1 win over a tournament team.

If you can't prove it on the court, you don't belong in the tournament.

I watch decent amount of college basketball, tons of big 10 + top 25 type games nationally. I'll be honest, probably haven't seen that many bubble teams play. Just know this NU team is not bad. Definitely 5th best team in this conference after the big 4.

To me, they look like a fringe tourney team. They didn't beat anyone except Michigan, and have some bad losses. They'll need to win at least two games in the BTT to even get on the bubble, and right now a pissed of Michigan could probably run them off a neutral court. They are a really good home team and mediocre on the road. I don't see that changing in NYC.
