OT: Best purchase you've made lately

Submitted by ypsituckyboy on

Since there's not much going on tonight, thought I'd toss this one out of the MGoBlogosphere.

Mine? I'm a huge popcorn fan and recently got a silicone/silpat popcorn maker. Toss in a pat of butter along with a quarter cup of white popcorn seeds and VOILA. Delicious popcorn. 10x better than regular microwave popcorn.

has been a Frappuccino smoothie that tastes like Starbucks but is a lot healthier.

1. Mix 3 cups coconut milk (or milk of choice), 1 tsp vanilla extract, 4 tsp instant coffee granules, 1/8 tsp salt, 4-6 tbs sweetener of choice (we use agave syrup)

2. Pour into ice cube trays and freeze

3. Place frap ice cubes in Vitamix, add another cup of coconut milk

Soooo good

After almost 2 years of 2 broken TV's and watching a 20" tube, I finally purchased new TV's.  Got a Sony XBR49X900E for bedroom and a LG 65B7A OLED for living room.  I'm beyond pleased.   HAIL!

between a service (paying movers to do the heavy), and an object (tandem bicycle for me and my stoker wife). If it comes down to brass tacks, I could give up the tandem over paying the movers!

Bought the mgowife a nice treadmill for Christmas so she can train for a few races while staying home with the mgokid.  Allows wife stay fit and healthy and burn off steam before I get home.  Greatly improves her happiness, which in turn greatly improves mine.

Got myself a Telecaster with a beautiful ash body, all clean and shiny wood, with a Peavy Delta Blues 30 watt tube amp.  I had previously been an acoustic guitar man, exclusively, and this is a whole new aural world of sonic possibility -- it's gorgeous.  Much good.  Many joy.

Volt. My first hybrid vehicle. Getting 70+ mpg, but the EPA won’t allow Chevy to publish actual mpg but rather some lame, untrue mpg of something like 37-40mpg. What is this gas station you speak of?

Eluktronics gaming laptop. Relatively inexpensive, good components, not gaudy, and comes with a totally clean, bloatware free install of Windows. Wolfenstein II Norlan whiskey glasses (those were actually a gift)
