Julian Barnett (2019) commits to MSU
Julian Barnett in the 2019 class committed to MSU today. Michigan never offered him, but I thought it was notable considering he's rated #2 in state, #3 CB, and #60 nationally. Also has plenty of length at 6'1 so he would fit what Don Brown wants in a longer corner. This recruitment has always seemed strange to me. I'm sure Harbaugh and co will get the recruits they want, but it's still a shame to see a top ranked in state player go to the other guys.

2019 in state talent is LOADED
Harbaugh better not fuck this up (Hurr durr prepared for downvotes for that statement)
Dobbs and Logan are two of the best Olineman in the country. Dobbs is Barnetts HS Teammate so it couldve helped to get him on the team in terms of landing Dobbs
Dobbs is a 5 star
Barnett high 4 star (97 rating)
Logan Brown, now committed to Wisonsin, is a high 4 star (96 rating)
Two of the other in state 4 stars are already committed to MSU
Our 2019 class is already in amazing shape but it will ultimately depend on how the team does in 2018. If we lose more than 2 regular season games and dont win the Big Ten then our class will crumble as this is THE YEAR for Harbaugh. Not looking good that we are already getting pillaged with our in state talent

From what i can gather:
1.) Kid was a strong MSU lean from the beginning.
2.) Michigan wanted him to come to camp for an in person evaluation for some reason - which is odd when he only plays 10 miles down the road...He showed up in street clothes, then went to OSU the following week and participated.
3.) His high school coach hates UM.
It sounds like we knew we didn't have a chance, so we really didn't pursue him.
Need to repair our Belleville relationship. It seems absurd that they're in our backyard producing alot of big talent and none of it is coming here.

So the staff thinks there are character issues? Harbaugh's comment about entitlement?
I still have an issue though about asking him to camp here when we have the ability to watch every single one of his games without much effort due to proximity.
Also, if we pass on every kid that needs a slight attitude adjustment, we will not climb the hill.
That's it I'm done - sorry for dragging this out.

I'm no scout or coach but some things I noticed:
Most of his highlights are at WR. He looks like a good WR but not on a level with DPJ, Black, etc. Honestly, I think Ronnie Bell's highlights were more impressive. This could be me viewing through maize and blue lenses. His speed, while pretty fast looks closer to 4.69 than 4.47. Good hands and elusiveness. High points the ball well.
Only 3 plays of him playing CB (1 INT, 1 PBU and 1 tackle on a run). It looks like Belleville has him playing some OLB and even DE on defense. Makes me wonder how he is rated the #3 CB in the country.
After watching this, I guess I could understand how Harbaugh might want to see him play in person before making an offer.

of him not wanting to be a part of Michigan
he didn't camp because he was "injured", then camped the next week at OSU
reeks of the kid from OSU that went on an official to Michigan and trashed Michigan the whole time and went to OSU
Cass Tech was anti-Michigan for a while and the Belleview coach is definitely still part of that bias
fortunately, we are super deep in the defensive backfield and need to focus on DL and OL

Belleview is anti-Michigan
won't change over night
only saving grace on Dobbs is he is likely a guard in college not a tackle but would be nice to have him
