Rumor: REM playing halftime of The Game

Submitted by michgoblue on
A buckeye friend of mine just told me that he heard from someone in the OSU program that R.E.M. is playing halftime of The Game. I haven't heard anything about this or seen it on here. Has anyone heard this rumor? Perhaps the Band is doing something relating to R.E.M. music and my friend just got it wrong. Any info? My personal view is that regardless of whether you like or dislike R.E.M., that crap should be reserved for the NFL. College football is lucky enough to have awesome marching bands for halftime. Why replace that with a generic halftime show?

What the fuck is wrong with people? REM at halftime, of a Michigan game, from a buckeye friend. Of course the natural response is to post this “info” to MGoBlog and watch the ensuing fireworks. I too want to watch the world burn, well played OP, well played.

Is one of the stupidest post I read on this sight. Never believe anything a buckeye tells you. It would cool if Incubus did a half time show.

Would have been slightly more believable if you said it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers, considering all the times they’ve sang the Victors at the end of a concert in Columbus.
