Per Adam Gorney from Rivals, Will Campbell has eliminated Michigan and will be deciding between Florida, LSU, and Miami.

If Will had committed to some other school, de-committed and looked around and then picked us, does that make us a better recruiter than the original school, or did said school screw up somehwere. It's real hard to be objective when you add up all the little "things" that have been happening over the last few months. I really don't want to dwell on the negative and I DO support the staff 100%, but Newsome, Fera, Campbell, and to a lesser extent Beaver and there were a couple of others, WTF? Yes we will survive this and maybe we'll never feel any negative effects of it, but some questions have to come to mind about all this

I have a hard time putting this on the staff. You're right the results might lead us to objectively question them, but RR's reputation is that of an aggresive/successful recruiter. I do wonder how much of an affect negative publicity has had on recruits. In all seriousness, could other high school stars poking fun at Michigan hurt the pride of a verbal commitment and cause them to back out? We know that current commitments are great recruiters, but I wonder if the reverse effect is destroying our efforts: i.e. Michael Brewster talking to our recruits last year about appy state and guys like Anthony Fera ripping our program on Lalota's facebook. I'd chalk it up to losing record, and like you I support the staff 100% here ...Winning cures all.

Will Campbell de-committed in what, August? Just because you chose to believe the recruiting gossip that he was still a "lock" doesn't mean anything has really changed. He de-committed almost six months ago.

William Campbell isn't exactly an unusual name. And for what it's worth, William Campbell's uniqname was created two hours after the rest of the early enrollees. Curious. It's okay, he's not a Michigan Man anyway...

Thoughts/Question: -Is he still announcing on January 3rd? If so, how can he claim he doesn't have a leader yet? -Why did he go out of his way to eliminate Michigan if he's announcing on the 3rd? Why not just have the announcement be between 4 schools instead of 3. Maybe I'm reading too into things, but none of that adds up really. I think he's still picking Michigan but just trying to add excitement as his name being in the directory sorta took the wind out of his announcement sails.

He wants to enroll early, right? Michigan classes start Jan 5 Florida classes start Jan 6 LSU classes start Jan 12 Miami classes start Jan 20 If he chooses Michigan or Florida, I would think that he better be enrolled asap since classes start in about 1 week. If he chooses LSU or Miami he has an extra week or two. According to the video he might be favoring LSU... so if he decides on Jan 3 does that leave him with enough time to enroll and be in class by Jan 12?

Do we: 1) Know that Big Will's middle name is Michael? 2) Know if he's the kind of jokester who would rule out a school one week before committing to same school? 3) Know who's information led us to believe he was a re-commit "lock"?

1) No 2) I don't think this is the kind of thing you joke around about. However, he could be trying to build it up to get some attention, as others have posted. 3) Pretty much every source out there thought UM was a lock. Hell, USC and Carrol were so sure that he was Blue, that they weren't going to even bother recruiting him. Is this all just misdirection and is Will getting prepared for the spread?

Big Will is just messing around so he can set up a nice "SIKE!" moment at the Army All-American Game and committ to Michigan. Maybe he was a little bummed about everyone finding out he was enrolled, and decided to have some fun.

I would be shocked if he didn't go to Michigan - I think this is shot back to us for stealing his thunder and it being in the newspapers. I don't think this guy is dumb and I think he is giving us a run for our money. If he was to choose one of those schools, I would actually think it has to be Miami. Weather and Randy Shannon are too very good reasons to go somewhere else. But he is going to Michigan and all of this is his way of screwing with us because - frankly - they guy had one joy like all of his boys have who are big time recruits and getting to wait right till the bitter end to build up the drama and then tell us. We killed that by being jerks and outing him. So frankly, either way it goes, we deserve it. I am actually looking forward to his announcement at the AA game. Should be fun and anticlimactic

The five steps to the recovery of ANY loss are as follows: 1.) Denial. (ie..this ISN'T HAPPENING TO ME!!!) 2.) Anger. (How Dare he/she do this to me?) 3.) Self-Reflection. (What did I do to contribute/add to this unfortunate outcome?? And did I learn something positive from it??) 4.) Acceptance. (I have to go on with my life and make an attempt to take care of my kids/parents/pets/siblings..they have been neglected due to my 'pity party'.) 5.) Indifference. Game over. I win. How are we gonna recover my friend if we can't be in denial? (Being Sarcastic)

Not denial - realism. One recruit does not make or break this team, this a very solid recruiting class - there will be some last minute pulls as well that will surprise us and not many high profile drops going forward (Dequinta Jones being the only one I see jumping ship). I would be SHOCKED beyond all belief if Will Campbell ends up anywhere but Michigan. He is a great kid, and frankly a really funny kid (I met him at a Cass Tech alumni dinner - low key, affable, and really funny). This is a big joke to him, and all of our panic responses are even funnier in the grand scheme. I think he will put on a variety of hats at the same time and then painfully reveal Michigan. And if I'm wrong - I welcome open ridicule from everyone. But this isn't denial, it's a true belief that he is coming here. I feared Beaver would leave, and I fear Jones will leave. They committed very early and are not near the school and really have no affiliation (mother, brother, father, sister who went to the school). Everyone who has left is logical - including McNeal, Newsome, Fera and Beaver. We will lose Jones as well. But not Campbell. Greaves to me is the unknown - he has no reason to want to come here but if Oklahoma wanted him badly, they would be more aggressive pursuing him and they haven't been. This is why I think Greaves comes and Jones goes.

I just checked for Big Will on the directories of each three schools - he's not listed. I'm inclined to think that its just a make a bigger splash when he announces.

Can you blame will if he doesn't go to Michigan. I still think there theres a lot of uncertainty in terms of defense, so he might go with a more sure thing at LSU or Florida. Not to mention its a hell lot warmer down there then it is in this frozen tundra.

Not sure if this has been posted. I just read an article in Rivals where they stated that the Otter said that a Michigan hat WILL be on the table but he still does not know which school he will choose. Apparently Lalota is trying to convince him to AA but the otter's roommate thinks LSU will be the pick. The otter said that there was no falling out with Blue or anything that lowered his perception of Blue. It seems like whoever you talk to, everyone has a different opinion as to where he is going. GO BLUE!!
