I believed in him from his commitment. You could tell from his high school film that he liked to bury people.

Magnuson was basically a failed left tackle - not quite quick enough, long enough, etc. He maxed out his physical potential. Good player, but more of a finesse guy than your typical RT. Ulizio is more of that prototype for RT, though not quite a road grader. I liken him to Mark Huyge. If Ulizio can be Huyge, I'd take him over what we've seen from Bushell-Beatty.

Pick the best five no matter what. Simple as that.

However, with so many new starters I expect some shuffling between number 5,6 & maybe the 7'th.

I expect hiccups against Fla because I would expect them to twist, stunt, and blitz aka Don Brown to test and rattle the new guys.

They watched the Orange Bowl tape and saw FSU befuddle an experienced line for three quarters. I expect Fla to try the same thing until Speight burns them a few times.

The best player Ulizio will block all year faces him in practice every single day. This guy will do nothing but improve all season long. It would be great to get a three year starter at RT.

The big news here is that Ulizio was, for much of the offseason, not even considered a candidate. Many are being negative about that. Why? That's important and positive news.

Excepting the hyper-rare possibility that 1-2 RTs were injured in recent weeks and we never even caught a rumor of it, this means the worst case scenario is that the depth chart -- which has predominantly focused on Runyan and JBB -- is officially one body (of comparable or better talent) deeper than we imagined.

There's no reason for that news to do anything but increment our optimism.

And that's to say nothing of the storylines if he works out. He'll be very fun to root for -- both for his sake and for the sake of our coaches' ability to unearth hidden OL diamonds^^.
