I never saw this posted about Devontae Dobbs

Detroit — Five-star Belleville junior offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs says Michigan’s coaches are still not talking to him much.
The 6-4, 290-pound prospect, ranked the No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation for 2019 by Scout.com, currently has 26 offers and says he’s not leaning toward any one school. He added, however, that he thinks Ohio State, where he likes the game day atmosphere, would be one of his top teams.
“Especially after the Michigan game, the fans just went all on the field,” Dobbs said Friday during a Sound Mind Sound Body leadership forum in Detroit.
Dobbs recently visited Michigan State, where he talked to coach Mark Dantonio. He said his favorite thing about Michigan State is the positivity of the coaches.
“I’m working on helping my teammates get better,” Dobbs said. “The coaches want me to continue what I’ve been doing, just get stronger. I want to commit before my senior year.”
It continually amazes me how some people on this blog (one in particular all over this thread) think this is a video game. It is so easy to think of reasons why Michigan would not go hard after a player that others would. Suppose a high schooler says publicly, "We aint here to play school. Classes are stupid," do you think Harbaugh would have any interest in him? Do you think other schools would if he was a good enough player? That's just one example. I could list many more, but do I really have to?
"But other top teams are going after him so Michigan must be wrong." That is silly. We all know there are players that some schools will bring in that others will not. We all know that there are schools that will do things that Michigan will not do. There are people involved in this. It is not a video game.
I am so tired of hearing, "Michigan should get that guy," or "Michigan should get this guy." Michigan has different standards and different ethics than many other top teams. This is a big reason I love Michigan so much. Yes, that means Cam Newton's father is not going to let his son go to Michigan. I'm perfectly okay with that. I wish the rest of you were too.
That doesnt make sense.
How would our coaches be ignoring the #1 overall OT who is in state and is playing a position that Michigan has struggled with filling lately?
Maybe he's talking in comparison to other coaches Michigan doesnt talk as much. I cant fathom Harbaugh ignoring him
I will be heated if we lose out on Dobbs
are you heated over McCall?
No - because EVERYONE other than Kentucky backed off McCall... and we did it pretty late in the cycle. It was pretty obvious that a bunch of schools decided he wasn't going to qualify academically.

because Michigan doesn't seem to give a crap about Dobbs recruitment, despite the fact that he's a (supposedly)5* talent in their own backyard.
Barring a complete 180 on Michigan's part in their pursuit of him, and even then they'd be playing from behind, Dobbs isn't coming to UM.
Wow the people in here trying to downplay this and act like its no big deal are funny.
You dont let the #1 player at a position get away if he's in your own backyard. It really doesnt even matter if hes at a position of need or not. You dont let talent like this walk.
ESPECIALLY if one of the places he's most likely to get away to is your rival Ohio State

.....wouldn't that mean we have to give back Gary and Ruiz?
At least there's time for Chris Hinton to drop to the #2 prospect so maybe we don't have to "process" him. Lucked out last year with Solomon dropping to #2, I guess.
