there is supposedly a new hemingway plaque ("Hemingway Fished Here") in the seney nat'l wildlife refuse that i've been searching for.
Intermittent positive reinforcement.
Pleasant, I had a 32lb carp on a crawler, took 20 minutes to land it. Scales like saucers, when it gave up, I thought it was dead. Fish-cow
Having a fish on your line and not knowing what kind or how big it's going to be. I think most folks find that fun/exciting.
We caught walleye and northern pike until are arms were ready to fall off. The biggest was a 31" pike, not huge for the lake but a blast to catch all the same. Most of the pike I caught were on a spoon, the bigger one was while trolling an Erie dearie.
prefer right angles.
My three year old nephew caught a 30 inch gar pike on Rush Lake with his Meijer spiderman pole. He used a spinner and had a small assist from his mother who you would never decribe as an angler. May have been the funniest thing Ive seen this year.
Amazed by the lack of bickering, but we kept the outing short & sweet.
3 of us in a glorified rowboat so the kids were using hookless lures . . . lol they never noticed.
My son named his white, vaguely frog-shaped lure "Mr. Cheese"
My daughter named her silver spinnerbait "Sparkle".
They only got tangled with each other a few times.
Biggest fish caught was going to win ALL OF THE CANDY IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE!!!
(there is currently no candy in our house)
I caught one 14" LGMBass that was unanimously named "Captain Bass-tastic" and released.
Headed home & docked before the bugs came out.
Kids are fun.
involving Russia, Targets, & filleting.
Am I missing an inside joke here? Target really sells cod and salmon fillets. and you really buy and eat them?
I'll bait worms, fish, squid, etc. But I'm NOT touching a crab!
I've been bit so many times my hands are 90% scar tissure.
Crab-like things just creep me the hell out.
Not much real fishing these days, but my Wife is a Finn(Finnish) and we are planning a July trip to Copper Harbor. I've never been up that far so I'm looking forward to it.
The Pigeon is a great little trout stream. So is the Gratiot.
It was a while ago, I caught a 33" snook near the east tip of DeSoto last spring. It was my last trip with my father as he passed away this February. We had some wonderful fishing trips - Alaska, Baja California and a handful of times leaving out of Tampa Bay and fishing the gulf or the flats in the bay. These times will always be treasured.
Landed a 46" northern almost two weeks ago. An absolute hog! Complete with a Michigan cap and my brother on the net. Doesn't get much better.
