JoePa about to get the Bernie Madoff treatment
HBO is making a docu-movie about Paterno, and the Sandusky scandal - starring Al Pacino as Paterno.

Brad Pitt.
He might not be tall enough.
For this movie...
"Say hello to my little friend!"
Considering we're talking about Sandusky here..umm...phrasing dude.
Edit: +1 nvm it's been a long day and I'm dumb thatsthejoke.jpg
That would be a pity, since IMO the movie should start with the 1997 UM-PSU game, zooming in on the blank, haunted stares from the sideline.
I mean the whole notion is wrong. HBO is off their rocker.
Such an obvious oversight.
he didn't stand up for the Utes when he had the chance.
but knowing what I know about Pesci, I don't believe he would want any part of that. Too good a guy.
To be fair, playing the Joe Paterno of more recent vintage - that is to say, the one in his late 70s and into his 80s - seems easy enough. For the most part, you sit in the press box and appear to coach but actually do nothing. You also see children victimized and do nothing in his case either. Pacino really just has to sit there and let things happen around him really.
Why shouldn't JoePa get credit for winning games when he has no clue whats going on? Field Goal Franklin has that deal now...
is available.
a google search of executive producer Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Sleepers, Wag the Dog -- all anti-establishment movies to my knowledge) leads me to believe penn state is not going to look favorable in this film.
Is there really some huge call to watch a reenactment of an old, probably senile demi-god in a podunk Pennsylvania town ignore the sexual assault of children for years? I mean, that doesn't sound remotely entertaining.
You make a fair point, but the story should be told so that it increases the chances it will not be repeated in the future.
