Probably since he played at around 180 lbs last year. At least one team will be enamored with him so that he will get a huge payday but he's a turnover machine especially with how he holds the football. Probably won't last long without some serious bulk and adjustment to style of play.

Weber is one of the worst running backs OSU has had since I can remember.  He had 26 yards against us.  He racked up some yards for the season but I watched a lot of those games and he was just running through huge holes against bad defenses.  OSU has much better players at other positions so I'm guessing whoever wrote this just picked an OSU player out if thin air.

NFL people really like Weber's size and speed combination. He's not top 20 good but he's still a great NFL prospect. I think people are undervaluing him here because almost every RB would look like a significant step down from Elliot. This list is also a projection to after this coming season. I'm sure OSU fans would wonder what Gary has done to justify a top 10 rank besides recruiting profile after watching Michigan's games last year. Obviously we know why it's justified, but for other fanbases it's not so cut and dry.

Conversely, their oline was mediocre at best and got wrecked by Michigan, Wisconsin, PSU, Clemson, and even MSU(!) Their true frosh Michael Jordan was a liability all year. Compound that with little threat in the passing game thanks to their arm-punter at QB, and I would say Weber did just fine

I disagree. If we had run Deveon Smith exclusively last year he would've put up as many yards beating up on the Rutgers, Marylands, and Indianas of the world. Hell, he put up 850 yards splitting time with 3 other guys compared to Weber's 1100 yards. I would not put Deveon Smith in the top 100 much less the top 20, would you?

I never said it does. But with Gary you at least have the physical measurables and the recruiting profile to justify projecting him as a top 10 player next year (plus PFF still had him as one of the top pass rushers in the conference despite his limited playing time and lack of stats). Weber, on the other hand, is just a guy who looks good because of the offensive system he plays in and Barrett's expertise at running it. Any running back can dominate the tomato cans, a top 20 guy would put up better than the numbers I listed against tough competition.

I didn't fear Weber the way I feared a Samuel or JT Barrett run. During The Game, I felt calm and at ease whenever OSU felt the need to slam Weber into our front 7.

Unless he turns into a poor man's version of Zeke next year - which appears to be his toolsy ceiling, I feel the same way about Weber/OSU in 2017.

I enjoy how you are trying to talk down a Freshman who had 1,000+ yards rushing. Sure might have been mediocre as a Freshman but he wont be just mediocre when he's a draft eligible and he will be a pain in the ass for us in the future

Im not going to underrate Mike Weber

His legs are friggin tree trunks and he might be the hardest running back to bring down in all of college football. Solid speed. His vision will improve. Needs to work on ball security

He'll surely piss us off in future games once he's more expierenced

Jeremy Clark just got a 4yr 2.4 million contract from the Jets. Congrats and he would've went in the first 3 rounds next year, if the NCAA would've given him a 6th year.

I remember Ed Oliver wrecking people all game in one of those HS all star games that people say you can't judge anything on.  Looked like "next Suh".

Iman Marshall sighting!

As for Gary #HEGONE

Oh wait, don't need to worry about that for 2 years.  Sorry, PTSD.

Though I agree that Rashan has huge potential, I'm a little leery of a rating system that favors potential this much over actual production.

If we see the development in Gary that we hope for and expect this season, then a #9 rating a year from now will likely seem too low.

He'll be awesome advertising for UM football in the draft after next. He's an athletic freak which NFL scouts love. Wouldnt be surprised if he goes #1. That'd certainly increase our chances to draw in some elite 5* defensive talent in the future
