Logan Tully-Tillman to grad transfer

Submitted by trueblue262 on

Kid's definitely not been shy about moving around the past few years, but thought it was of interest with the schools listed

He screwed up, but we're not running a convent here.  If we want to compete with Bama and OSU where you don't go to class, have defense attornies on staff, and cut every corner...we should give a kid that screwed up once (be it royally) another shot.

If he can help and Harbaugh is willing to take him back on, I'm all for it. Make it so. OSU or Alabama would have no qualms.

about Akron's campus.  Since he just walked the Michigan graduation in Dec, there is confusion about when he actually was enrolled at Akron.  As others have mentioned, He probably finished his bachelors from Michigan this summer (whether taking classes at M or getting enough transfer credits for the M degree) and then walked in the December ceremony despite having been enrolled at Akron during the fall.

I realize this opinion will probably be unpopular...

But nah on LTT.  Hard pass.  This guy might have learned his lesson and all, but he took a sex video of someone without their consent.  To take him back here just because we REALLY could use him is seriously bad optics for the program in general and Harbaugh in particular.

Let's just take the high road and our lumps.  We'll be better for it ultimately.

And I have mixed feelings on taking LTT back.  But he is going to end up somewhere - Wisconsin, Arkansas... somewhere.  If he's fit to play college ball next year, you could argue he's fit to play for Michigan.

I agree with most who say it's Harbaugh's call as he knows the kid and the circumstances better than any of us do.

I understand what you're saying.

I'm just saying "let those programs take the low road, then".

Unless we, as a fan base and an institution, are ready to let go of "the Michigan Difference" once and for all, or any claim that we "do things the right way", taking back LTT doesn't seem to be in the best interest of the program.

That is a hard stance. People deserve second chances. Many awful people in this world have been given more than enough chances. I cannot imagine what his life is going to look like when every employer would know what he did. Coming back to Michigan, even if he is on the bench, would show the world that he has changed. Don't know. I am 100% sure but it seems to be good to face the situation and redeem yourself rather than just staying away from it.

What he did was really bad. And we gave him an appropriate punishment - kicked him out of school.

But I believe in redemption. By all accounts, he's done the right things since the incident. I'd take him back, and that's without even looking at the on-field considerations.

With him coming back. It's alright to do the crime and pay the time and be given a 2nd chance afterall.

I would love to read the reactions from this exact same story if it was a story about a guy who left OSU and might go back to play for Urban....

I agree alum96- LTT was dragged over the coals in a lot of threads after his incident. Now since he could potentially help us win games next year, everyone is back in his corner. Seems a tad hypocritcal to me. I doubt we would be saying the same things if an OSU player was in the same situation, as you point out.

He's a kid that made a mistake, and he paid for that mistake by being kicked off the team. Regardless of whether or not he could help us next year, he lost the chance to play Michigan football by screwing up. He doesn't seem like a bad kid, and it looks as if he's matured since then. I still don't think that means we should bring him back on the team.

It wouldn't be a good PR move from the school's perspective, and he's still been able to play college football regardless. I think wishing him the best of luck at a new school and moving on would be the best course of action for both parties.

No, what's hypocritical is people like Heptarch above saying no we shouldn't do it ,pass, but that he will get behind whatever decision JH makes. Huh?

But either way, in the end, I don't give a shit about what the PR is. If you want to give a guy a second chance do it. If you don't, then don't. It's not going to forever change the university. But it could change LTT's life a bit or help to educate others going forward. Hard to say for sure.

Tired of the bad O-line play. I say Fuck it and bring him back. Staee or OSU would not have even kicked him out to begin with.
