Both Tony Brown and Reuben Foster have committed blatant targeting penalties in this game.  Both uncalled.

Bama not getting any flags thrown against them. If Williams doesn't come back in that hit to the head could be huge.

There isn't an officiating expert on TV who doesn't see their job as an imperative to back the officials on the field at every possible instance. It's like some kind of secret society bullshit.

What is up with these camera angles? Low and only from the 50 perspective, wtf? Just show the normal camera angles!! And don't get me started on the dumb sky-cam for kickoffs...

Targeting, from note 1 accompanying the rule, specifically says the targeting rule can be broader than just the crown of the helmet. It can be applied to any part of the helmet, or even forearms and hand shots to the head, which would include hits like the one Foster put on Watson, which was so blatantly illegal he should have been ejected even before there was a targeting rule. Here's the text from Note 1 accompanying the rule (apologies for formatting):

No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6). (A.R. 9-1-4-I-VI) Note 1: "Targeting" means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball. Some indicators of targeting include but are not limited to: Launch—a player leaving his feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet

This Syracuse coach is aweome. He is almost openly rooting for Clemson, he was ripping on TE blocking, then talking about the look you give the punter when you make a bad block. This guy needs to be an announcer.
