I'm surprised, with all the in-depth and interesting analysis out there, that people still listen to sports radio and/or watch ESPN. It's one surface level argument and cliche after another. There's not a redeeming sports radio person out there. Even Dan Patrick, who some people on the other thread said good things about, never says anything new or all that interesting.

I wish Harbaugh weren't doing this. The imperious head ball coach bullshit is not a good look for him or the university. Providing fodder and then engaging an asshole like Rome, and implicitly threatening to get tough, just no. C'mon, Jim.

I kind of wish JH wouldn't have responded.  It's one thing to tweak Saban or Mork or someone who actually matters in college football, but a bottom-feeding dickbag like Rome doesn't seem worthy of Harbaugh's notice.  Plus getting into feuds with media types is a bad idea since Harbaugh has a job to do but Rome can talk about this for hours if he wants.

Focus on football now and stop w the reaction to everyone saying anything about him. We need total concentration and full attention this year. Go in the submarine and reappear on game day. Damn this shit bugs me

Edit: Appears I replied to a nuked poster that is only visible on the app. Not a reply to you, jjelliso I really wish you would just focus on your job 24/7. Can you spend less time posting here? I mean if Jim can't do anything but focus on his job you should do the same.

I cant explain how much I love Harbaugh for this.

At times I wish hed be more open. I feel like I can watch some interviews and I already know what his answer to the question will be.

But when he takes his shots he swings for the fences. LOVE IT.

I understand defending the program, but now he's feeding the trolls. This is the sort of thing Rome lives for and it gave him the opportunity to throw the OSU game in our face.

I've cheered with the rest of the maize and blue faithful for most of his tweets, but I don't think this is a good look.

Frankly, I couldn't fucking care less.  Saban was a miserable failure at the highest level of coaching, never played in the NFL while Meyer never played nor coached.

I guess for you and others who insist on this line, it's all about head to head records?

So Lloyd Carr is a better coach than Meyer?

Who cares?  Fuck both of them.

With all due respect, the NFL isnt the "highest level of coaching". College has constriants (practice time limits, studying, student athete are unpaid, etc.) that are not prestnt in the NFL.

It is much harder to keep a bunch of 18 y/o focused, than paid professionals. IMHO

I do not believe that Jim Harbaugh is the best coach in football. There are numerous quality NFL coaches.

However, the NFL has restraints as to whom can be on a team via a draft, free agency and the cap. College football has no such restraints as reflected in Alabama's recruiting over the last several years.

The NFL schemes are at a much higher level than in college Football

So, Harbaugh may be one of the best football coaches, but. In my opinion, he currently is the best college coach.

The talent is fairly evenly distributed in the NFL which makes it much more difficult to win at a high level consistently.  Do you really think Saban and Meyer would both have multiple championships if they had similar talent to everybody else?  Is your argument that Harbaugh is not as good because he didn't win a championship in his 1st year at Michigan with a team that was 5-7?

Coaches also have much less work to do in the NFL though.

Their players are the primary stars, not the coaches, and a big part of coaching is teaching and that doesn't really apply nearly as much in the NFL.

I think coaches in college are much more important. In the NFL everybody is a star/can make plays on their own. In college, you not only have to be a better identifier of talent but you also have to work up game plans for kids who will never have NFL talent.

Completely disagree... NFL money makes it harder than NCAA.

There are more divas in the NFL than college.  There are more egos in the NFL than college -- it's fairly typical for a millionaire superstar to shit on a NFL coach because of money, power, being the owner's fave, or a combination thereof.  Heck, look at the Charles Woodson/Carr video which was posted recently where #2 tried to give Carr an ultimatum.  That doesn't fly in college but you can get away with that in the NFL.

College is better from a HC perspective though for one reason... the HC has complete control of personnel.  The roster is completely the coach's.  Such autonomy is rare in the NFL

Can almost gurantee you shit like this is going to wear thin with the power brokers at Michigan.  Not a good look for the University.  Sure, it will rile up the unwashed masses, but Michigan has and always will be concerned with its national image.

Harbaugh needs to rein this stuff in.  Can't go responding to every asshole who offends you.

Disagree totally. People are going to try and drag Harbaugh through the dirt and try and break him down. He is simply showing EVERYONE that he will one up you on the field, in the media or on social media.

I enjoy his openess and find it refreshing in a world of uptight dickhead coaches. I said it in another thread that he is pretty open and honest, but he will protect his players everyday of the week and his walk out was simply that....media session ran its course and now guys were digging for dirt. He protected his team.

What good would come from him outting the players names?

I enjoy the carnival that Rome Show is...he lets people come on and ramble as long as they don't suck. We have all listened to sport talk and hear the people who think they have a great comment only to hear them bumble and stumble through it.

Rome is a complete dick bag, but I enjoy the make up of his show. I also enjoyed this clip and laugh everytime. I mean you got told not to be a moron....and still decided to be a moron. Though it speaks to the person Rome is that he can't laugh it off as stupid move from his early years.

Hell yeah coach. Never back down, this is why players have said they'd go to war with this man. Anyone who thinks this reflects poorly in any way is soft. Never take unwarranted shit talk from anyone, you've got to have pride.
