TomVH: Joe Kerridge Update
Joe Kerridge is a 6-foot-1, 230-pound fullback (also plays linebacker) from Traverse City. He was at Michigan's junior day this weekend. He doesn't have an offer yet, but Fred Jackson hadn't been able to look at his film today.
Coach Jackson said he is going to get back to him this week about an offer, and his recruitment. I know there has been some comparison to Owen Schmitt, but take a look for yourself.

I think the fullback thing is just window dresing. Man he just looks like a middle linebacker. Remember when we used to have those at Michigan?

He is playing in the second lowest division in Michigan. Those corners he's running over are probably 5-7 140 lbs, not really Div 1 talent. Got "preferred walk-on" written all over him.

he would still be worth it.

Even when Kerridge "outran the field" to score a touchdown, there were guys catching up to him in a hurry. If the end zone were five or ten yards further, he would be dead meat (that is, if those kids who were 140 lbs. could tackle him). He is slow. There is no getting around it.
Like I said, in a year when scholarships are at a premium (we'll have about 14 or so), I sincerely doubt that Michigan will give an offer to a fullback of his..."talents." There are much bigger needs on this team.

I don't think a 4.6 is slow for a fullback...
As I said originally, you don't need to be fast on 3rd and 1...
I won't disagree that we have bigger needs than fullback, but he'd add a needed dimension to our run attack IMO...
