And it wasn't fair how they gave OSU a 5-1 lead in the game too. These refs cheat so much!
the guys who did the M/Iowa BB game?

Quit f@cking crying. Refs called off one goal, but I am positive the refs didn't let up 6 to Ohio State. That's the players fault. That's Red's fault. Don't blame the conference for us coming out soft.
I'm not trying to take it out on you, but the entire fan base on Twitter yesterday. Every time the hockey team loses it turn into the B1G fault. I'm sick of the whining.
Every single one of Brian's hockey posts point out that the defense is a catastrophe waiting to happen while the offense is flying straight down a mountain at 100 mph while on fire (this is supposed to be a good thing).
When it actually combusts once every 10 games or so, it's not the Refs fault. It's just bound that happen at some point.
Also, hockey is reffed this way at every single level. You cannot let refs decide a game and the only way to do that is to have a 2 goal lead at all times.
Buckeyes have scored 5, 6, 7 & 6 goals against Michigan in their 4 meetings. Whatever Michigan is doing, it's not working (or vice versa).
The officiating is the least of my concerns. If Michigan holds OSU to even 4 goals per game (and I don't think that's too much to ask), they're leading the B1G.
One goal yesterday, one goal against Wisconsin... fuck this shitty conference.
is the conference sucks and Michigan can't seem to win it. No excuse to be swept by OSU.

True. But I believe his contract is up after this season.
He either needs to retire or he needs to retool his assistants to find someone who can coach defense. It's apparent Mel was the brains of the defensive operations
Red is 76, he's basically been a figurehead for the past few years. What about Powers and Wiseman? Didn't they bring in Shields to help with the goaltending?
nope, I have been following college hockey since the mid 90s's. I can't remember a season with more examples of one sided and incompetent refs. Yeah, the CCHA refs were bad, but at least there was a top crew that could approach competence. These idiots are not fit for bantam level hockey. I am also including the idiot refs in hockey east.
I'd say Red has more pure offensive talent at his disposal than Beilein does, but both squads generally play mediocre-to-poor defense at best. That's not a winning formula for getting to the post-season, or doing anything further if you manage to get there.
Generally it isn't, but we made the finals and the elite eight with excellent offense and mediocre-to-bad defense.
B1G hockey does suck. Which is why we should be rolling through it despite the consistently competent officiating.
For this to be a WD meltdown thread. Still plenty of time in the day for that, though.
It's sad to say but I've been looking forward Red's retirement for too long. They've just been a total dumpster fire on defense ever since Mel left.
If it wasn't for the referees, Michigan would have won the last 40 Hockey, Basketball and Football national championships!
Let's be republicans and IGNORE all the facts surroinding Michigan athletics and PRETEND everybody loves us and we win everything!
6 unanswered goals in a span of about 30 mins Friday night!
when was the last time that happened to UM? i'm guessing before any of the current players were born!
and 13 goals against total for the weekend series
to OSU, no less!
WHAT
THE
FUCK?
so frustrating watching or listening to this team play!
DAMMIT!
I think that speaks for itself
If I remember correctly, Mel took the Tech job because Brandon was against hiring someone without head coaching experience.
I am really starting to believe with how bad the reffing has been to us and friendly to the Gophers, there is conspiracy to ensure Minnesota wins the conference. I have been so frustrated at the refs compard to the is season. On mulitple times we have gotten completely screwed by the crappy B1G refs. It is hard when we have to compete against both the opposing team and the idiot refs.
a team ranked #6 should never fall behind 5-1 to an 11 win team in March. There is also no reason that a top ten team like Michigan is supposed to be gives up 24 goals to an average OSU team that, although they are obviously playing better now than their 0-9 start, should still not be able to score that much on on a top level team, especially in March while winning the season series 2-1-1 and taking 8 of 12 points on the season. This team should be improving, not slumping at this time of the year if they are good enough to win anything of significance. I am grateful for all that Red did to resuscitate this program and take it to greatness, but a time comes when it's best to step aside and do what's best. I don't feel like he's decided what he's going to do, otherwise there would be a big send off planned for Saturday's game for which we would have already heard. Bottom line, this team is aggravately to watch and it's hard to see them winning much more this season, even if they do limp into the NCAA tournament. I was planning to go to Cincinnati if they were placed there, but now I think I'll skip it and go see the UM baseball team play in Evanston the following weekend.
