This is a pretty big bummer. I imagined him steamrolling people when he committed. However, as others have noted, I never found his HS highlights to be that impressive (I seriously thought Smith looked way better, but just not very fast), and he looked like he went down so easy when he got here. Still, I hoped he would break out and go nuts. Didn't happen. I hope he gets his chance wherever he ends up.

There goes another great one from Transfer RB U...

Too bad he didn't pan out on the field but if he leaves w/ his degree in 3.5 yrs, he panned out in general. Good luck to him.

I was just as excited as everyone else when he committed to us, but in retrospect, his high school film just wasn't very good, showed that he was a good straight line runner with more speed than high school players and was hard to tackle when he picked up a head of steam.  He was the slowest back I have ever seen in Maize and Blue.

Walker's film is better.

Question:
Does this open up a scholarship now or when he graduates in the Spring? I guess it doesn't matter really if we take Jake Raulerson, but would be helpful to know.

I applaud the board's quickness in updating the Depth Chart by Class page with the three recently reported early departures.

Whoever has been updating the page has been doing so with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

Many of us thought he was going to become a much better RB when he made public those photos showing how he had greatly improved his body. I guess his lack of production wasn't just about being out of shape his freshman year. I wish him luck.

Took on the personality of the last coaching staff (Hoke - Fat, out of shape, unprepared, lacking attention to detail).  I never thought he was the #1 running back out of HS after watching his tape, but he definitely would have been much further along if coached by Harbaugh his first two years....he'd at least be in shape.

While we can't put this all on coaching, he's just one more victim to not reach their full potential while coached by jolly ole' clapping Hoke.

DG can find more carries somewhere else, we free up a scholarship for the incoming class.  Didn't pan out--best of luck to him.   We seem to be stacked at RB next year.

I'm really sorry that it worked out this way. He came here in the dark days and gave us what he had. Maybe a change of scenery and maybe position will let him blossom, a la Michael Cox.
