IU lost on a FG called bad that might possibly have been good. Oh well, same story for the Hoosiers good offense and a defense able to keep the other team in the game...

Indiana just lost on a good field goal, that they apparently made, that no one seems to want to discuss, that was completely dismissed. Wow. If you didn't hate Duke, now is a good time to start.

um, that was odd. What a dumb rule - all FGs should be either reviewable or unrevieable. I'm pretty sure that was a good FG and we should be going into 2nd OT.

Poor damn Indiana. What a sorry football history. Tough year. Amazing offense. Pay a lot of money for a DC and they might be an interesting team to watch.

Clearly?

The view straight behind was very inconclusive.  I thought it actually looked wide - or directly over - if anything.

The view that people will refer to was the on-field (or on crossbar?) view.  Sure it looked good from that view, but that view is not nearly as much of a straight-on view as the other.  I'll trust the better angle replay and the official who was in place to have the best angle possible.

If I were an engineer....I would invent a GPS tracking device which is placed inside of the football and corresponding trackers would be placed on the goal lines and the goal posts.

A black box will record all of the GPS movements of the football.  When a goaline or FG is disputed, the records of the box will show the exact positioning of the football.

but isn't GPS only accurate within 6 inches or the like? Maybe a tracking device in each venue because these calls are often decided by a literal inch. I just think it'd be a great thing to have refs not even worry about the spot (field or scores). Have a quick system that relays exactly where it was when the whistle blew (maybe a whistle/button combo system). A TD/FG would be dictated to the refs via a system seen by all (lights maybe).

This angle is completely inconclusive.  Even this screengrab is inconclusive.

I'm really surprised with all the uproar.  I guess we need something from a IU-Duke game to get excited about
