2016 TE Chase Allen offered

Submitted by AnthonyThomas on

He is 6'6" and from Missouri. Already has two crystal ballz to Michigan just this evening.

It's been obvious (at least I think) that Nauta isn't leaving the South unless it breaks off and sinks into the ocean. The coaches seem to be conceding to this.

Allen looks plenty athletic and is a good receiver. Will need to put on weight but so does basically every TE recruit.

No one cares about Michigan's history besides the fans and the students that go there. The latest generation has been growing up watching osu and msu dominate B1G. If you leave in the state of michigan look all around you, alll the kids now days were sparty gear, so yeah Jim does have to do some begging and bring in guys that can play football and win. If we start winning and dominating again, then you can pick and choose.

Everyone bitching about Harbaugh can't recruit need to take a step back.
On 247 we currently have the 6th best class and that's without the #1 RB and consensus #1 overall player in the country which we stand a very good chance at landing both.
Pull your heads out your asses

We are entering the dead period in recruiting. The kid can't even visit campus for a month and by then we will have a better idea where Nauta is going. Still looks like Georgia but Harbaugh isn't conceding anything, just putting a contingency in place.

I'd love to get a top TE in this class, but it's really not make or break.  So far, Harbaugh got a great QB, some amazing OL (maybe a couple more to come?), and a good DL (excellent if we get Gary). I think the skill postitions will take time, but the core of the team is really strong with this class already.

Wow. We just offered a great prospect and the board is spending it's time bitching about missing on some other guys? This kid has all the tools to be great: athletic, very willing blocker, great hands and an ability to high point the ball. He needs to clean up his route running, but he could be an absolute beast.
Yes, I want all the five starz too. But what really matters is getting the most out of your talent, and this kid's ceiling is sky high. The only real criticism I have is that you don't even realize how fast he is until about 3:30 through the video because he runs his routes so slowly. That's a pretty easy fix.
Very excited about this offer and our future a the position.

If it makes you feel better about the "dregs of the big ten," the Gophers currently have 3 former TE's currently in the NFL. That's more than Ohio State, Nebraska, and Penn State. Harbaugh knows TE's, and Minnesota's success at TE might suggest they do too. I expect either team will be happy with Allen.

It's going to be a big class and there is a need for Tight Ends, I am more than happy to see the staff kicking the tires on other players when they don't feel as good about the prospects they are recruiting. I'd rather have them looking for guys they think can contribute rather than be left as bridesmaids on Signing Day. There's going to be about a month worth of dead period so it's time for the staff to get their offers out now. Or did you really think the class was going to close out without a couple of late adds?

We have an excellent class.  It's expected to get better.  Many top recruits will choose other schools.  It will happen EVERY year.  Sucks when we're one of the "finalists."  But then we have a great coaching staff so we will continue to be more and more competitive.

IT'S GREAT TO BE A MICHIGAN WOLVERINE!  If you feel otherwise.  I feel sorry for you.

It's amazing how much we care about recruiting lol. I've been burned for years telling people a certain kid would end up being good since he was a 5 star, than end up being a bust. I'm looking at you Shane Morris and Derrick Green. Get the players that want to come here and let Harbaugh do what he was born to do. Win a lot of fucking football games. I rest my case.
