Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

He knows it's over and ridding off the grass into the sunset.

.

edit: their AD announces that he's staying in the postgame presser.

Hmm avoiding the dark ages with Les with some national title aspirations and getting  a couple of championships in basketball with a blackmail/sex scandal with Pitino...

I'll take it!

Why on earth would he stay knowing full well that his boss wanted him gone until the very public outpouring from the fans made that look foolish? Almost has to be a point of pride by Miles to say go to hell...

He is not going to make more money anywhere else. He is a good coach and great recruiter (a rich man's Hoke), but he is past his prime and no school that can afford that kind of money is going to bring him in. He would land somewhere like Maryland making half of what he makes right now, and accumulating double the losses.

left Les out to dry for a few weeks to the point that everyone assumed it was his last game and he was effing carried off the field AND NOW you say he's back. A public statement or two saying nips this in the bud 2 weeks ago

"Les is our coach and will remain our coach. As with every varsity team at LSU, we will sit down with the head coach and discuss the program and it's progress at the end of the season but we not having those discussions at this time". End.

I was watching his presser on the SEC network, before it came on one of the broadcasters who is a former LSU football player was whining about how many passes they threw. Hey guy, you just won a game by double digits. Gonna bitch about style points?

You know who I think loses the most in this scenario? Interim Emeritus Coach O. Gave a great presser about it, too.

Shut the fuck up ESPN. You don't know shit and probably made up that Miles was out. You fucker give money to Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith which equals zero credibility.

on how not to handle a situation.  Unreal that all this happened while the administration was not 100% sure Fisher was on board.

I've always wondered, if they need a QB, why not make a run at Taysom Hill?  On paper, they are a game manager away from being a playoff team.

There's the money, of course, but beyond that, the AD's handling of this story at LSU seems like it cuts out any really fulfilling reason to stay for any longer than necessary if you're Les Miles. I couldn't believe that the department would let this story grow, let the speculation grow and even let people write articles about where he might go next until they had this 11th hour revelation based on fan reaction and other things that it wasn't a good idea after all.

If there were even a glimmer of interest from Jimbo Fisher, this is still a story, and I don't see how Miles' relationship with that department is not irreparably damaged.
