I am sorry, but it is hard to take terribly seriously the words of a man who looks like the dude behind the meat counter at my local Meijer, has a site that by all appearances is the last one on GeoCities and yes, would spend all this time through the years touting his model only to disregard it suddenly.

It doesn't bother me at all when Steele or anyone else predicts a Sparty win. Whatever, you are all entitled to your own opinions.

But only if they acknowledge that their prediction flies in the face of all reasonable expectation based on the way the two teams have played this year. I mean, there is no way you can spin what you have seen on the field year to date to be able to expect MSU wins, just no way.

It is like if I were to predict a Michigan win in either of the last two years. Um, ok I can choose to feel that way about my team, but I would have to acknowledge that I had no basis for feeling that way other than something that hadn't manifested itself on the field that year.

I think Mark Dantonio represents the "new old" in cfb. Where Harbaugh has been criticized for having an old offense, MSU actually does have an old and predictable offense, and the defense is nothing compared to what it was in 2012, 2013, and even last year. I bet they will try some trick plays and stuff (probably zone read, playaction, lots of downfield stuff) but even then they are as predictble as they come. The Purdue coach was right.

If I were a Spartan, I would feel like a Michigan fan early in 2013 when the record wasn't justified by how poorly the team played.

It's an interesting dilemma.

On paper, Michigan should win going away. However due to the last 7 years many people are going against the stats and trusting their gut. That's why the Vegas odds have risen despite the fact that more people are betting on state.

Someone is going to be right this weekend, I hope it's his computer.

He can't go against it right now.

BTW, Harbaugh is not Hoke.  Harbaugh and his staff is not about to get outcoached.  Also, 6 out of 7 years...We got more than enough motivation on our side.

People are hilarious. They really think MSU being angry is going to swing this game. Who the fuck do they think they are? The Incredible Hulk? I wouldn't say they can't win, but if they do it'll be because Michigan played poorly (unlikely) or they played really well which they haven't shown the ability to do.

Good. That guys wrong about everything he's ever picked or said. He's like that mark Valentino guy on 97.1. You wanna make some money? Play the exact opposite of his spread picks.

I've purchased his Inside The Press Box newsletter the past few years and he's a solid CFB handicapper who wins at a high enough rate you can make money following his plays (which 95% of people can't do). That's still only about 55% or so ATS.

But he's wrong on this one.

Many of the factors people are using to promote MSU are no longer applicable.  This is a different team with a different mindset.  I quietly love our chances tomorrow.

His whole site is him telling everyone how awesome he is. He picked Michigan to go to the Pizza Bowl.....in the year Michigan went to the Sugar Bowl.

It's okay to like an underdog but you should have a reason, like if they have some crazy spread or option scheme that will confuse the favorite.  That isn't the case here.

Granted they have some serious players but if this goes to form, and we don't give the ball away, we should win.

If MSU wins tomorrow, it'll won't be like in years past where we get out coached, out physicaled, and out everything'd. It'll be because they simply played better.

I'm not saying they can't win. They could look like a whole new football team tomorrow. But as of this moment, they've shown absolutely nothing that would logically suggest they're a better football team than Michigan. And this team seems to get better each week. So it's hard for me to not like our chances.

I'd get going against the computer if it says UM would win by like 3-4, but 17 points means one team is significantly better than the other.  Believe in upsets all you want, but this rivalry has usually been won by the better team.
