It's Maryland week. Don't Punt to Will Likely

Submitted by sgwill on

I was talking to a friend of mine on Sunday, still on a post-drubbing high. We we both waaay too excited and optimistic about our changes against the State schools. But, hey, post-drubbing high.

But then he suggested we punt to one Mr. Likely this weekend, "just to show them how we're not afraid."

Ahem.

What happens when you punt to Will Likely?

Punting. When at or around Will Likely:

OH: "We're so good, we should just punt at that Will Likely Kid. We'll show him."

Do not. Punt. To. Will Likely.

I didnt' watch Maryland's game on Saturday. They lost 45-6 to West Virginia. Did WVU punt to Will Likely? I think if we punt to him it will be at a point where he will fair catch it, or O'neil places it in the danger zone.

I'd love for Harbaugh to punt at Will Likely when UM is up 48-0 and O'Neill just boots it 30 yards over his head into the endzone.  Just to mess with Maryland.

Just don't punt to the kid unless we're up by 4-5 TDs. Last thing you want is to give the other team big plays and start believing they can get back into the game.

Seriously, I'd almost rather kick out of bounds and start at the 40 to avoid the risk. Maryland is likely down to its 8th string QB so I don't think they'll be much of a threat with moving the ball.

We will likely score every possession anyway, so we will likely not need to punt to Will Likely.  Still, just in case, never forget the first rule: Don't Punt To Will Likely.

how "kicking to Rocket just to show we're not afraid" worked out. Literally don't kick to him. Swallow your pride, understand that he can give them 14 a game on ST alone and avoid him. Kick oob or something. I dunno. Just avoid him.
