Cardale Jones taken to the hospital

Submitted by The Blue in Ohio on

Seeing multiple people on facebook and twitter showing tweets from Devonte Jones saying his brother Cardale Jones was taken to the hospital with a severe migraine and inability to move. Not sure how to embed and could not find any other info on it doing a few quick searches.

Mod edit: Not OT. Here are a couple 11W tweets. JGB.

Confirmed by a couple of sources: Cardale Jones was taken to a hospital for bad migraine. Is resting and should be good.

It's funny that you say that becasue I remeber getting one the spring of my freshmen year,15, day of my graduating brother's open house, and the next I remeber getting one for sure was summer after my senior year, 18, had to leave a baseball game.  I don't know for sure that I didn't get any between those two but I remember those two for sure.  I've read that marijuana is great option for relief  because it helps with the inflamation but I've never had any around when I get hit by one.

something about those ages that decreases them? I've haven't tried Marijuana (for migraines lol) but I smoked a bit as a teen and stopped around 18 so......that could be it? ha. Another I've seen was on a Discovery channel special about psilocybin (shrooms). A man had very similar migraines as I get and he had a wife & daughter. He was debating ending his life before a message board poster swore on them and sent him a test batch. He didn't drink, smoke, do drugs, etc. He doesn't like taking them twice a month but admits they saved his life. I'm very tempted to try one or both at some time as it's getting bad. Really effecting my life.

I've had them throughout my life, though pretty mild compared to what you all are describing. Then in August I got one that lasted for six days. It went away for two weeks, but now it's back. The symptoms are intermittent, but now I've developed a tension headache that is sticking around. The nausea and light sensitivity comes and goes. I'm thinking about acupuncture. The doc gave me Relpax and it works ok, but you have to catch the headache at the beginning and it's hard for me to tell when this one is starting and ending. It will feel like it's gone than rears up again.

Had them 2-3 times per month from age 5-18 when I lived in metro Detroit. Tapered off a little when I went to college (Miami (NTM)), had a few when I was back in Ann Arbor, then went away completely when I moved to Alabama. Haven't had one in years. Moral of the story, move to SEC country... Profit?

For many years and I tried every prescription out there and nothing ever worked. One day I was completely debilitated from a migraine that hurt so bad I wished I could just die and my sister gave me a pill and within 30 minutes I was actually comfortable. The pill was Fioricet w/ codeine. It is the only thing that has ever worked and has changed my life. I get about one migraine per week. So I HIGHLY recommend anyone who suffers from these headaches to ask, no demand them from your doctor. Hope this helps.

for about 2 years. Seeing white, vomiting. Not wanting to move for 3-4 hours. This was 15 years ago.

Dr finally said try to cut out caffeine. Did that and they stopped for about a year and a half. Got comfortable and started drinking Mt Dew and whatnot again. They came back with a vengeance. Haven't sipped caffeine in 12-ish years and haven't had a migraine since either. Go frickin figure something that mundane did it for me. Maybe I just got lucky as hell.

I definitely wouldn't wish those damn things on anybody. I can't imagine getting one once a week,

This happened to my partner and we had to go to hospital a few times. Numbness alongside her body and she could barely move. They definitely thought it was a stroke and possibly even Chrone's or MS. Luckily it turned out to just be stress induced severe migraines, but it's very scary in the moment. Hope the best for Cardale.

this is likely a sign of something he'd already been diagnosed with acting up with ferocity or something that needs to be looked into more. Point bring that of he has a prior history of debilitating migraines it shouldn't be anything to be too concerned about. You get them or you don't for the most part and the reasons for them are many. I wouldn't wish them on anyone. I've had clusters so bad that I've truly debated terrible things while in pain to get rid of it. To think Terrell Davis played in a SB with one (blind because of it) is crazy to me. I get nauseous thinking about it.

Her elder sister graduated perfect gpa and valedictorian, chem e, from notre dame. Poor thing was racked by migraines and the debilitation I witnessed following attacks was painful to observe. Not even for a buck nut would I wish that. Heal fast kid, take the doctors' advisements seriously. There's more to life than contact athletics.

My girlfriend has suffered from tension headaches ever since she went to work behind a desk sitting in front of a comuter.  The only relief she has found is with botox but a few years later that is starting to not work.  You should see the paperwork and drugs that she has been prescribed over the years.  She went to specialists in Lansing and Ann Arbors and I'm convinced that doctors are clueless in this arena.  Thousands of dollars and years of pain later and still no definitive answers.  It's really frustrating!

Tension headaches...I often come home from work and just lay in my dark bedroom and try to relax before doing anything after work.

By anything, I mean normal life things - eat, walk the dogs, watch my shows, etc.

Tylenol can only do so much...eventually I think we just have to make life adjustments and try to alter priorities. Easier said than done.

Hell, I'm literally up now because I had a tension headache and went to bed too early and now I'm up at 2:30a, mind racing about things at work.

A lot of people don't realize that the tech in LCD/LED monitors can be hell on migraine sensitive people. You can't see the screen flickering, but it is there, usually around 120-180Hz. This can be disaster for migraine sensitive people. A few monitor companies are cluing in now and selling actual flicker-free LCD/LED monitors (Benq), but you really have to look for them. BTW, I have measured this effect with an optical oscilloscope on uncounted models of monitors. It is definitely a real problem. I can also test it on myself since staring into one of the "flickering" screens for about an hour (even though I can't actually see it flickering) does some seriously bad sh*t to me.

Would hate for this to be career threatening given he did forgo the NFL draft to come back to school. Buckeye or not, you never want to see someone go back to school and it turn out to be the wrong decision.

Migraines always make me think of Percy Harvin.  One helluva fantasy player when healthy, but you are almost assured to sit him a game or two every season due to migraines.  So glad I've never had them...sounds like they suck the life out of you.

This heat can be rough on anyone regardless of how fit they are.  I'm impressed by how the tennis players manage to get through it.  That has to be brutal.
