Not a ton of insight or new information, although I hadn't seen/had forgotten some of the stats about Rudock's lack of interceptions at Iowa, which makes me happy. Also sharing because picture of Gentry with the other QBs and holy crap he's enormous.

Don't get me wrong arm muscles are beneficial, but their not nearly as important as core and shoulder strength for quarterbacks that you can't really see. Doesn't mean much.
I remember seeing combine clips showing Joe Flacco throwing the ball almost 20 yards further than Kaepernick, even though Kap is jacked and Flacco well no....
Hell then you've got guys like Peyton Manning with dad bods that can thread the needle.

Wow. Gentry make Shane look tiny, and he is not tiny.

- the speed of Usain Bolt
- the arm of Nolan Ryan
- the quickness agility of Barry Sanders
- the strength of Jim Brown
Other than Fred Jackson, nobody has found a prospect to fit the bill. Everyone falls short of the ideal in some respect. Some deficits (being too short @QB) can be rather difficult to overcome. A little too tall, could've used a few pounds, OTOH, isn't going to weigh that heavily in a QB evaluation.

in his decisions of who to recruit.

locked in a cage somewhere? Just curious, as he has a couple years in the program as well. I thought that guy was around 6'6".

Our starting QB is hint #1 of how the season will go. Rudock is settling for competence, and that's not a good sign.

that games should be won and lost with the other 21 guys, and that he thinks those other 21 guys are pretty good.
Plus, we haven't seen a Harbaugh-coached Rudock yet. Keep Alex Smith in mind.

Based on past years' performance, I would say it's settling for fewer turnovers.
(Do you really have negative forty five hundred points? Wow...)

work really interferes with participating in these discussions in a timely fashion. Per the Qb discussion-height, Russell Wilson 5-11, drew brees 6-0. It's not always the size of the dog in the fight...

Don't leave me hanging! It's not always the size of the dog in the fight...
It's the size of the object the dog is fighitng?
It's size the size of the building the dog is fighting to stay on?
I NEED TO KNOW!
As far as QB's go, I think what makes Gentry's size (height and strength) intriguing is when you start thinking of him going mobile more than anything.
