Equipment: Block M removed from home jersey and pants
We know there will be a new road jersey this season in the final year with adidas, but there has also been an expected tweak to the home jersey.
The criticized block M above the nameplate has been removed. Hopefully the M on the front bumper of the helmet follows it out the door.
New authentic jerseys at MDen. Methinks they'll have a tough time selling adidas gear this year.
At media day for team photo, the players wore their 2014 home jerseys with the nameplate Block M covered up on the back. Presumably since the 2015 game jerseys aren't ready yet or haven't been made.
edit: brought to my attention in the thread.
The new actual Maize colored pants no longer have the Blue Block M on them. Those have been on the pants since 1993.

I have a favorite Michigan shirt that I wear to watch every Michigan game on TV. I got it in 1995 at the M-Den stand during the "Kickoff Classic" versus Virginia. Great game.
To this day, and to your point, I still don't know who made the shirt. And I don't care.

I have a few shirts from the mid-90s myself that still see airtime, if you will, and I am in the same boat - I don't know exactly who authorized them and I am not sure I care really. One of the pitfalls of having one of the more highly engaged and passionate segments of the fanbase is that we become ensnared in debates / discussions that perhaps other segments of the fanbase don't necessarily, but we all signed up for that when we made accounts here.

That day was hotter than hell.
Great memories from that day.

To be honest Most of the game we looked like toast....Then the Miracle comeback in the waning seconds...Great End of the game Great Win ..UVA was pretty good that year If I remember correctly and yes it was HOT HOT HOT that day

Well, neither Nike nor Adidas would be well served to build their business model on guys like you--or me by the way with my favorite Go To Michigan shirts from about 2005!--but the younger fans may have a preference and could actually buy more shirts because of style/design/Nike cache.

Anyone find it ironic that some fans whose lives are overflowing block M's feel the need to shit on this particular block M?
August 11th, 2015 at 8:44 PM ^
The thing is, there isn't a need for a Block M on that particular part of the jersey nor has there ever been, Just keep it classic.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I didn't even notice it.
I don't really like there being no Michigan logo on the pants but there being an apparel company logo.
They've worn block M's on the pants since 1993
and have had the big M since 1994
Michigan won the national championship with those pants.

I like the Block M on the pants. If it's good enough for Charles, it's good enough for me.

I'm actually going to miss the M on the pants. For whatever reason I really liked that particular element.

Dump the M and go with argyle... or multiple Block Ms

Except a lot of people here supposedly wouldn't be cool with that shade of maize, at least according to that very flawed poll Seth put up.
I know I shouldn't blame Brian, but part of me feels his ardent (but lately unmentioned) quest for a return to some mythical maize-ier maize has turned us into MSU with their ever-shifting green. I wish he'd speak up and own it, now that it seems we're returning to an orange-hued maize we haven't worn in 30 years.

Exactly.
When you come back Nike . . . just dig these up, hang them in the lockers, and walk away.

Block M, Nike Swoosh, Master Baller--now that's a trifecta!!!

Yes, it looks like darker shade of maize. Hopefully it matches the winged helmets.
