Tyus Battle Decommits
Get your welp on:
Tyus Battle is taking an official visit to Syracuse this weekend & opening up his recruitment, per sources. Committed to Michigan in May.

There had been rumbles the last couple days to the effect that Battle would take a visit to Syracuse, who had been one of his presumed leaders along with Duke before his commitment to Michigan.
It's unclear at this point how open his recruitment is, but in general schools that suffer a decommit do not get the kid back. How Syracuse remains appealing after Jim Boeheim got blasted by the NCAA remains a bit of a mystery.
Michigan was very strong with AL SF Josh Langford before Battle committed on his official visit and will probably look to re-open serious contact with him immediately.

Give them a break, they're kids. And the commitment is just about the only power they have in the relationship between them and the NCAA schools. Once they sign, the power shifts entirely to the NCAA and the school.
That said, this sucks. I thought Battle was a done deal after everything he said in May. Must have someone in his camp who's actively trying to get him to switch.
given the fact they tried to stop him from committing in the first place

It looks like he really wants to attend the University of Michigan, but is being bullied by the so-called "adults" in his life to go elsewhere.
A man's word should mean something, but people can rationalize anything nowadays.

....?
basketball "recruiting" is just slimy and disgusting
Haven't watched Sole Man yet, eh?
I remember my first beer.
Learn how the sausage is made, bud.
I think it's pretty easy to assume what the real story is.
It's basketball recruiting. It's not a tickling contest.
Anytime Michigan loses a recruit, the only explanation is that whichever coach flipped him did it by backing a Brink's Truck up his driveway.
In most cases, I agree, but look at this one in particular. It's not like he decommitted to take a visit to Stanford. Syracuse has made lots of news recently and not for oncourt heroics. In this case, calling things fishy is probably warranted.
I'm pretty sure that the sentiment about college hoops recruiting is that is well known not to be above board. Try pulling anything out of Chicago with 5 stars next to their name if your last name doesn't start with a "K"
Devin Gil just committed...
Fuck
His dad probably kept them open. It was reported that his dad favored Syracuse before the Michigan commitment.
He may be the "most connected" out of people who make a living off recruiting but like ou said, he is not nearly as connected as people think.
Looks like dad is getting his way.
in any verbal commitment....talk to me after National Signing Day.
WHEW!!! Thank goodness someone is connected enough to find the TRUTH!!!
Do I need to /s?

Why can't we have nice things?
Evan Daniels had the huge mistake / typo in his tweet yesterday about Josh Langford visiting Michigan when it was really MSU. He corrected it immediately, but still, how trustworthy is this guy?
