Interview with 2015 MBB Commit Moritz Wagner
The kid sounds like he has his head on straight. He is all about working, working, working, and the enthusiasm comes off to me as genuine.
Also, I know exactly what he means by wanting to get back in the classroom. I love learning, too. It's good to hear that, though, from a top recruit.

pickup Coach Beilein!

Sounds like a class act in every way:
Wants to work like Nowitski and Durrant;
Can't wait to do homework;
Loves JB's shooting/backcutting system;
Wants to see a football game; and
Hates to lose as badley as Garnett.
Welcome aboard, Wagner!
All hail, Beilein!

I'd be very pleasantly surprised if he cracked the starting lineup next season given the depth Michigan will have. But, he is a player I'm excited to see play and what he can do. I like to keep expectations in check with new players. Still, I'm hoping he can come in and make a real contribution next year.

This is awesome:
"Excited to do some homework. [It] sounds crazy, but after one year without anything but basketball, I really want to learn something."

I wonder what his European ranking was? Are stars a global metric? Do you think he'll shop at Bronner's? Do they have billboards in Germany?

Yes they do...

His favorite player is KG and that makes Wagner an instant favorite for me. I hope he brings the same intensity and whatever it takes mentality. We need more guys like that who will have anuerisms of leadership.

How many games till we see a David Hasselhoff-themed sign in Crisler?

We need to recruit more players from high schools named after Marxist theorists (Rosa Luxemburg Oberschule).

Will be interesting to see who will get the most minutes at the 4 this year.
The starting lineup is looking to me like:
Walton
LeVert
Irvin
Dawkins
Doyle
I could also see Beilein plugging Irvin in at the 4 instead, considering his improved rebounding.
Chatman and Wagner will be an interesting battle for playing time. Chatman played really well in some of the games later in the year. If he makes the sophomore leap, he could be getting 15 minutes a game. If Wagner lives up to the hype, he could be getting 20 minutes a game.
That's not even including MAAR, Robinson, or Spike. The 1-4 spots will be very competitive this year. MAAR could get time at PG occasionally. I am really looking forward to seeing what some of these guys can do. Robinson may be as good of a shooter as Stauskas, and he is a likely backup.
We could very well have 10 guys on this team capable of putting up double figures any given night. We may have enough depth to use a platoon system, like Calipari. That is a good problem to have!
Which announcer?
