For anyone willing to take off the maize and blue blinders.

He's had 2 starts and a number of other snaps and he's done absolutely nothing. He really hasn't shown anything other than he's faster than any of us realized.

We saw flashes from freshman at other positions and you see "okay, we have something here."

That doesn't mean Morris can't/won't be good, that's not what I'm saying. Plenty of guys develop late.

What I'm saying is there has been NOTHING to assume Morris is going to be good, a starter or anything.

He's still living on hype from his junior year of high school. It's not like you saw some flashes as a freshman and thought (give this guy some time...or give this guy a better OL and he's going to be a beast). You saw that in a young Navarre who really wasn't anything special. You saw that in a young Henne despite Hail Braylon and handing it to Hart 20+ times a game. Both guys still made some plays, converted a few first downs on their own, etc.

A young Forcier, a young Denard, a first year Devin all did the same thing. None were perfect, all at least showed you something that made you think he can play at this level.

Shane Morris hasn't had that, it was alarming how overmatched he looked versus Minnesota (pre-injury) --- Only Russell Bellomy was able to keep everything in perspective.

Alot of people slam Morris for a terrible few possesions against Minnesota last season but neglect to mention a not bad bowl game as a freshman that led to people calling for Morris to replace Gardiner.

The problem with any of us trying to evaluate Morris and the QB position in general is none of us are there everyday watching practice, witnessing for ourselves how many reps he gets and how he does in those reps, how he does in the meeting room. And only a few of us would even know what we were looking at if we did.

Personally, Ill let it play out without any preconceived notions and hope the coaches are able to coax good play from one of the QBs.

Physically, maybe. But mentally?

He took more undeserved shit than anyone I can think of here, shit that should properly have been directed at Henson for leaving to play baseball, or the coaching staff for promising Henson they wouldn't recruit a QB. It wasn't his fault he was on the field before he was ready, but if the crap from the fans ever got to him he didn't show it. There aren't a lot of freshmen that could have seen that through.

I've got as much respect for Navarre as anyone that ever played football at Michigan. He wasn't the best player by a long shot but he maxed out what he had and he never got credit for it.

Jim Harbaugh is all about having a QB who is accurate with the football.

95% of QBs are either accurate, or they are not.  This is more of an innate skill and is something that can be improved on, however an innacurate passer like Shane Morris, is almost impossible to turn in to an accurate one, even with improvements in mechanics.

The same can be said for a RB's vision and feet, which is why D. Green will be on the bench for most of this fall as well.
