OT: MSU Wins

In another 1:37 unless Iowa pulls off a miracle. Perfect end to the perfectly shitty day.

What a bunch of worthless retards. Has Iowa won a game yet this year that someone hasn't handed to them? USC is going to feast on these guys in Pasadena.

after watching them nearly get Tressel'd, what makes you think USC will feast on them?* * besides the whole, "USC systematically dismantles Big Ten foes in Pasadena every fucking Rose Bowl."

That was a while ago, and Barkley has matured and improved a lot (kind of done the opposite of Tate this year), USC is playing some good football, and I just don't buy into the Iowa thing, it's frustrating the hell out of me because I know they're not that great, but teams keep handing them games with turnovers and other stupid mistakes. Maybe God's just on their side this year, I don't know. But yeah, if PSU couldn't come close last year, do you really think this Iowa team could?

What makes you think PSU this year could then? OSU a second shot, basically on the road...? Maybe. But God, who could root for that...

I don't think any Big Ten team will, I think it's one of the least relevant conferences in the country this year, but I just have this thing where I HATE Iowa this year because I know they shouldn't be where they are. I also feel like Iowa represents the boring-ass past of the Big Ten that has become so worthless on the national scale, I want to see a spread team represent the Big Ten until Rich Rod can get us there.

Ha, actually I want NO spread team to represent the Big Ten TILL we can get there. I want our spread to be superior to all other spreads. ;-) And frankly Iowa is probably the least offensive regular contender in the conference to me. (No pun intended). But I've always been more in the camp that I don't care how the Big Ten does, just how we do. I just hope that when we get really good, the Big Ten suddenly hasn't become great again. No one cared when FSU beat up on a patsy conference, or when USC does it...just that they win. Win all your games, play in National Title games, you're bound to steal a couple. That's what I want us to do. Be good AND be able to beat everyone easily. But YMMD.

I've always felt the same way, but if the Big Ten gets to the point where it's a national laughingstock (and thanks primarily to OSU and the continuous Rose Bowl crushings) then that might take some respect for the wins we get in the future. Sure, the ACC and Pac 10 haven't been top-notch, but they're not always in a huge national stage come bowl time where they get destroyed and embarrass the whole conference. That might stick in voters' minds in the future.

Someone posted this 1:37 too soon... Thank god Iowa won though, the thought of watching MSU play the rest of the season with a shot at the Rose Bowl makes me nauseous.

You do have to feel bad for MSU there - it sucks to lose like that. And since I'm not like most Spartans, their lose doesn't help today's loss one bit.

No, I totally wanted MSU to lose, but it doesn't really change the fact that UM lost today and needs to rebound. As we all saw today, Sparty No!!!!! is about as automatic as the sun setting in the West and rising in the East. But I never want to be like a MSU fan who cares more about UM losing than MSU losing.

I never feel bad when Sparty loses. I also love it when they blow one at the end. Dantonio handles himself very classlessly, especially when it comes to The University of Michigan. Karma is a bitch and it feels good to see jackasses lose in the end.

I grew up near Lansing, and I don't mind a BIT when they blow it like this...60 members of my HS class went to MSU, and I was one of only four to spend my college career in Ann Arbor...point is, I've heard so much pro-MSU (which means mostly anti-UM) bullcrap, I can't stand how Sparty can't win with grace...
