NCAA Tournament Night Game Thread
Dayton-Syracuse and Oregon-Wisconsin are currently playing. Dayton led Syracuse 20-18 at the half in this one.
My dislike of Oregon is stronger than my dislike for Wisconsin.
Amaker vs. Izzo looks familiar. Praise Beilein.
Wisconsin on fire. up 4
Wisconsin is making their run. Let's see what Oregon has got.
If Wisconsin wins this they won't get past Baylor/Creighton without the home crowd.
Nike U. in trouble now.
Different sport. Still have ugly uniforms.
Oregon's offense is awful right now. Terrible shot selection.
MSU passes it to casual (and not so casual) observers, and UM doesn't, I guess. MSU plays an amazing half against an overmatched opponent, leads by 12, and everyone thinks they look like national champs. UM plays a great half against a 'better' team, leads by 14, and people have a 'meh' opinion.
MSU's style leads people to think they are better than they are. Our style makes people think we are lucky.
I don't think it is a respect thing. I really think it is more of a style question.
Could also be that Izzo has been pretty successful in this tournament for years. Our success is recent.
they are just sheep and repeat what the talking heads have been feeding them since last weekend.
of Michigan's games this week were talking us up quite a bit. Especially tonight, when we were red hot in the first half.
Agreed with the original post. I'll probably get thrown to the wolves as an MSU fan but just wanted to toss in my two cents.
You guys play a brand of ball that generally relies on taking and making a high percentage of threes, which most consider to be flukey and not a winning formula for the tournament. The thing is that you guys have the shooters to sustain that game plan, as evidenced by how great you've been this year, not to mention last season. People really discredit your post game as well, but Morgan has turned into a solid player for you guys.
We play a much different game that relies on physicality and athleticism. Nothing wrong with either system, it just depends on what a coach wants and finding the right players that fit. Obviously Beilein has done a great job at that.

Is the Sparty blog so bad that you need to come here? That was rhetorical.

I kind of hate Oregon right now for shitting the bad against Satan's team
but the internet must know my thoughts. That Syracuse/Dayton was full of so much bad decision making and frankly bad coaching at the end of the game. That was CBI stuff. Terrible shot selection, terrible inbounds plays and designs. Just awful.
Congrats to Kalamazoo Central guy Devin Oliver for Dayton, a very impressive young man who I got to see play in high school a few times. Beilein looked at him but never offered. When he signed with Dayton his dream was to play in the tournament. Very happy for him.
I Kinda like the Coke commercial with a young Desmond Howard at the diner counter.
As long as we see it on my ATT phone plan somehow i think it will be ok.
they brought back my favorite Wheat Thins commercial
"Look Ted, a Yetti!"

I do enjoy that one. I like the way he gets so offensive after she asks "From what?"..."I DON'T KNOW!".
Also, I somehow just noticed a few weeks ago, the woman in that commercial is effing hideous.
Wisc-Oregon is about the most hostile "neutral" environment I can remember. Wisconsin fans brought their A game.
That looked like a Craft drive (by Cook from ORegon). Put your head down and get a shoulder into them. First down.
Could build a house with all the bricks in the last couple minutes.
Oregon's basketball team runs the same offense as their football team
Did the Bradley Center only allow those that live in Wisconsin to purchase tickets? This home court advantage is ridiculous.

Wisconsin fans may be bigger whiners than Spartoons

What I hate is that it just means people are going to keep talking about how MSU is finally "whole" and ready to dominate after getting two incredibly favorable match-ups for Dawson and Payne.

Dekker kind of looks like Ivan Drago

Has there been confirmation that Beilein made it back to the hotel ok?

So whose leg does Oregon have to hump to get a call?

The NCAA really needs to redefine a home venue for the NCAA tournament. This is in no way a neutral court.

Agreed. The halftime announcers talk about MSU beating an overmatched ivy league opponent for twenty minutes and we get fucking Buzz Williams.
