Them Blue Balls™ be bouncing!
Three new balls since yesterday, two from Sam. Third ball in for Cole Sullivan, a true athlete who is listed as an LB but can also play DE or TE, apparently. Third ball also in for Jeremiah Beasley, an MSU legacy who had been thought to be a lock there, but all momentum has gone for Michigan recently. And first ball coming in for Dominic Nichols, a prototypical edge rusher who already had some predictions going for Michigan on On3.
BALLS BALLS BALLS!!!
yeah, get that. is this nichols guy better though? not from what i can tell... you might be right that the one who jumps at the opportunity is the one who gets in, but.. strategically, telling an ohio kid who is very highly ranked and very interested.. no thanks.. is either the most brilliant thing ever.. or really dumb.
Can't remember what I was reading but OSU guys feel Robinson is overrated and he's not getting the offers you would expect for someone elite. I kinda felt Michigan wanted him to build roads, not for him personally.
Thoughts?
I was reading but OSU guys feel Robinson is overrated and he's not getting the offers you would expect for someone elite
That's called "copium." He's only overrated because he's a top 100 Ohio guy who has been such a strong Michigan lean that OSU hasn't even bothered to offer him
He's certainly got the ratings. It sounded like there are concerns he's a high floor low ceiling guy or just too big for edge. Not that he wouldn't do well inside if he continues to grow. Idk. I'm no talent evaluator. The offers just don't seem to match the ratings.
The dreaded double post.
they know hes a Michigan lean so are acting accordingly.
Nichols is a good player and seems like he's due for a bit of rankings bump, but I think Robinson is better. Nichols has a great frame and uses his hands well, but his athleticism doesn't stick out to me like Robinson
Thanks for the input
Idk. His tape isnt that good and his body type isnt what Michigan has been looking for in this new defense. He is more of a tradtional End in a 4-3.
He's a workout warrior that hasnt played the position all that long so maybe they like him for his potential. Nichols seems like a higher ceiling in this defense.
In Michigan's scheme, you could definitely be right. Nichols has a frame that is pretty Aidan Hutchinson-esque
Michigan is trending a bit for Jerod Smith’s twin brother Jacob, and Nichols in addition to being considered the leaders for Robinson. Not to mention LB/Edge tweeners like Cole Sullivan and Mason Curtis, who is already in the class.
I don’t know how long you can expect Michigan to tell a 4* recruit like Nichols to hold off while they wait on Robinson. Michigan has been at the top for Robinson for months now, and as good as he is I don’t think you slow-play someone like Nichols or Jacob Smith. If Robinson wants in, he’s likely going to have to speed up his timeline.
If Michigan tells someone like Nichols to hold off while we wait on Robinson, you risk chasing him off and of course the risk of Robinson going elsewhere anyway and you don’t get either recruit.
Robinson is visiting in June. He’s Blue 🔒
Robinson also plans to use all of his official visits, which go well into the summer. Unless that timeline changes, he might not have the option of going blue.
“There” is maybe Kentucky or Pitt, Í guess. Looks like the excitement around him isn’t quite what it was some months ago?
I would not call Robinson "super elite". He is ranked about 150ish and a huge reason we are (were?) the favorite is because OSU was not recruiting him (247 does not even show an offer from OSU).
I would trust UMs judgment on DL alot more than OSU. We need to stop thinking that if OSU doesn't offer a player he must not be good or great and visa versa. OSU has been striking out quite a bit on D lately. Could also be bad development.
I do trust the coaches. I am just suggesting that if the coaches, whom I trust, are willing to recruit other guys instead AND the premiere instate program doesn't even offer that he may not be elite.
osucks fan already claim Robinson is staying home. Michigan only gets the ohio kids that they dont want, remember?
Robinson is one of those guys we have seemingly been in the lead for forever and he still isn’t committed, which often means he isn’t joining the class
No, I think we'd take both. But what does complicate things is what happens with Darien Mayo and Jacob Smith. I think we only take max 3 of those 4 guys if they all wanted to come here
I think after watching Nichols film, that he looks like he will be a project, but has great measurables, is very long. Dont know why but he looks slow reacting to me, and the competition looks weak. But what do I know.. Partridge and Elston are on this and it might be another grow a bear Jenkins thing, because the frame looks great.
Sullivans film to me is outstanding...total animal.
I guess my question is why is Nichols reacting to you at all, slow or otherwise?
Well. At least this Randy Marsh gif is allowed on this blog.
In regards to Beasley, he's being recruited by Scottie Hazelton for MSU. For UM, Partridge and Bellamy. We can see why the tide is turning in that alone!
Is Hazelton the duck dynasty dude?
Sullivan looks quick, fast, strong at the point of contact, good 1v1, and diagnosis plays well. Sullivan, Curtis, Chiles, and Beasley would be a crazy athletic LB haul...
After listening to Sam's recruiting podcast, I am very excited about Sullivan.
intriguing prospect. hes got some similarities to chase winovich as a skinny relentless athlete from pitt. would be a nice addition
His tape is impressive. His length, speed, and tackling immediately pop off the screen
Which podcast ? I don't think he mentioned Sullivan today.
Bawlz.
Crystal blue ball persuasion!
Are they on fire? Asking for myself.
They told me Tuck was comin tho. Dogs! Cars! Cigars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
