there really is a 'michigan difference' and i highly doubt we'd to the ohio/SEC thing and trot someone out even if injured.  and as bad as the shane morris thing was, it was 8 years ago, a one-time incident, and as a long-time football coach i can tell you it can be easy from the sidelines to miss that stagger we all saw with great camera angle.  diverted attention, ground level with lots of players in and out, etc.

I hope so - and im not accusing - im just saying there's a lot of wiggle room for those that choose to use it. That osu kid just had his 6th concussion in a YEAR? that, to me, as a parent, or a coach, or otherwise means its time to STOP.

Jones isnt there, but if he gets dinged up again? I have a hard time seeing him playing more. A hit to the nose in practice, that shot from Moussa in the game... yes, those can cause concussions, but they dont have to. Maybe he has a history, maybe not.

Completely agree.  There is emerging evidence that as bad as some of the "highlight reel" concussions that we see on TV are, there is equal risk from an accumulation of many lesser hits to the head.  6 concussions is really scary.  It's not up to the coaches and the universities to shut him down (doing so would only encourage underreporting of concussion symptoms, and moreover, people have a right to make their own choices), but I would hope that his family and friends are in his ear about the long term risks that he faces every time he steps on the court.

According to Jones, he left the Tennessee game because he "just wasn't feeling my 100-percent self" and he "can't say too much."  Certainly players have a right to keep their medical info private, but this doesn't sound great knowing that he had a concussion less than a week earlier.

Devante is hugely valuable & very effective running the Pick n Roll. That aspect of our offense is missing when Frankie runs the point.

We need both PG's, especially playing against the savvy Villanova defense.

Devante is the better offensive player while Frankie is the better option on D. Seems like if we need stops more put Frankie in if we need to score more then roll with Devante although have to be sure he’s healthy which as others have said he wouldn’t be practicing with the team. I hope we have all the options available to go as we will need all hands to spring the upset.

To me, the comparison in this thread is a mistake. You guys are talking about Jones vs Collins.  I think it's Jones vs Bufkin . To me, the main reason to want Jones healthy is that I'm confident I'd like him on the floor for 10-12 minutes instead of Kobe Bufkin.

Right now, I see no comparison between current day Collins (after a full season of experience) and current day Jones.. Collins is a way better defender and a better point guard. We don't need him to shoot a lot. We have multiple existence proofs of Michigan's ability to win with a largely no offense PG out there in Collins.
