Most impressive part of today’s game is how many bucknuts are at this game. Sad reality is, it’s kind of a preview of how much red there will be at the Big House come November... ugh

OSU always has nfl kickers to go with the rest of their NFL talent.  I wish we could see an athlete like Dobbins in the Michigan backfield for 3yrs.  Actually I’d settle for just 1 year.

It’s sickening watching OSU maximizing their talent while wondering whether or not Harbaugh even knows the first names of his allegedly NFL receivers.

Too lazy to look but OSU has seemingly covered every week.  Any hope of falling off this year seems exactly that - just hope. Worst of all, their defense under Mattison is legit.

There was a pretty popular post on MGoBoard at the beginning of the season arguing how Michigan was going to exploit Ohio’s defense due to weak players like Malik Harrison and Damon Arnette.

Essentially saying Malik Harrison would always lose contain and Arnette was easily lost on coverage.

Amazing how in 1 offseason their coaching was able to make those two guys legitimate top-3 round prospects now.

Everything about this team is better than us and it isn’t even remotely close. It’s laughable people talked themselves into Michigan being an elite level team. We’ve been 10-15 every year other than 2016 and a lot closer to 25th than top 4.

Their offensive starters only played 2 series in the second half.  It’s pretty much the norm in a blowout against a conference team.

their DL starters played about 30 snaps. They rotate the DL like a hockey team runs lines. 13-14 deep and they were shutting down NWs starters with their 3’s.

it’s the best OSU team I’ve seen in years. At this point better than 2014.

Bluedream, I know you’re a old timer like me. I would go even further and say that OSU hasn’t ever had a roster this deep and talented. Archies 74 team doesn’t even come close in depth. Really amazing what these young coaches are doing with this team.coaching staff has a good mix of nfl guys, college guys and veteran coaches. Kevin Wilson gets forgotten because he’s in the booth, he’s been one of the premier OC’s in all of college football the last 10-15 years. The biggest disparity is in the recruiting. um’s 2018 Class had 0 top 100 recruits, that just not elite recruiting, lazy in fact.

On the upside to this NW debacle:

My sister lives in Chicago. A local pub apparently had some tickets to the game and held a contest, offering anyone (or maybe just someone) a pair of tickets if they could come in and sing a Big Ten fight song. So my sister popped in and sang The Victors, and now she's at the game. First game she's gone to since the '05 UM-PSU game, I think. This one is rather less exciting, but she reports that she is having a good time.

Her seats are quite good, too.

They even beat us in commentators. Mike Martin sounds like a homeless dude. Josh Perry sounds like he will be at the top of his profession in a few years. Ugh . It’s like Dez and Herbstriet part 2

IMO is not a question of whether UM can beat OSU.  No team is unbeatable;however, all facets of UM game must be near perfect for The Game.  The defense has shown glimpses but tonight will be a very good test.  The offense needs to show definite and consistent progress. Again a surprising performance tonight would go far to get me on board of thinking we have a chance. They haven’t done it all year - Rutgers doesn’t count in my mind.

Shane needs to play with swagger and we haven’t seen that all year.

For cryin' out loud...

Some of you here are acting as if OSU just beat Bama or Clemson last night.

That Northwestern team is NOWHERE NEAR the powerhouse they were last year or the year before.

Sparty hung 30 on them.  A mediocre Stanford team beat them.  Wisconsin beat them.  Any team with a halfway decent pulse could beat them by 2 scores plus.

OSU is good, yes, but the win last night was just as bad looking due to Northwestern's incompetence.

I agree that it doesn't mean they're unstoppable.  That being said, NW had the #5 defense going into last night-- their defense gave up 10 points to Wisconsin.  So it's not as meaningless as beating a bad team with a bad record normally is.

OSU has either a two game or a three game season.  Wisconsin, Penn State, and if they steadily improve in the 2nd half of the season, Michigan.  Cincinnati was a pretty good win because of how dominant it was, but let's be honest, getting the win itself isn't a big deal.  Other than that, they've played no one.  The Big10 is just not very good this year.

The 52-3 beatdown NW suffered at the hands of OSU is the worst home loss for the Wildcats since the 0-11 1981 Northwestern team was pounded 64-0 by Iowa.

The 1989, 1984, and 1983 Northwestern teams also sustained 49-point losses at home.
