It wasn't an overload. Reddish's guy chose to drop to protect the basket instead of fighting through the screen set by Jack White. That's a complete miscommunication by FSU. Either you're in man-to-man or you're not and FSU didn't appear to know what they wanted to accomplish defensively.

Aw, man. I thought history was going to repeat itself and, like 6 years ago, the team would be playing on a Sunday to set the program record for best start to a season and the #1 ranking.

OSU not actually very good? Just another team with some ability and opportunity to play some big games well but not the majority?

Kinda seems like we're in an awkward spot right now. Duke plays home against Syracuse next week and then home against UVA on Saturday. Virginia plays home against Va Tech (ranked #9????) this week and then goes to Duke on Saturday. We play NW tomorrow and then don't play again until the same Saturday at Wisconsin. I imagine that if Virginia were to win both games, they could probably leap us to the number one spot, even if we do beat Wiscy. They'd have the same record as us and the best win of the year. And unless Duke loses to Syracuse, I don't see how we'd jump ahead of them in the next week. Today was probably our best chance to be #1 for a little while, and Leonard Hamilton blew it again. Color me shocked

Not sure that would’ve happened even if Duke lost.

If you’re a voter and you’re convinced that Tennessee or Virginia should be #1, you might try to make that happen by putting the competition an extra spot lower. It’s shady, of course, but in this case you could’ve gotten away with dropping U-M to #3 (and U-M is the one to target, since they’re the heir apparent). U-M’s hold on #2 is tenuous enough that a little funny business could affect things.
