LaMelo Ball spotted at Crisler Center

WTF doesn't do this justice.

I sure hope we aren't recruiting him. Wouldn't touch the Ball clan with a 10 foot pole.

High reward if he did well at Michigan. Would easily be the biggest story in college basketball.

Dont know if I could put up with anyone let alone his goofy father being negative about Beilein.

The Ball name is the big turn-off here. Also, I am sure that LaMelo is ineligible to play at the collegiate level at this point as I believe he signed with an agent in his junior year of high school.

People are freaking out and don’t want him because of his dad, but last I checked Lonzo did just fine at UCLA and the Lakers. Dad hasn’t made too much of a fuss at either. Now, I think JB would explain to Lavar how things go and Lavar would explain to JB how he thinks things should go. Neither would want the other’s way of doing things so I doubt there would be true mutual interest. Some might point out LiAngelo’s failings, but his brothers are far more talented.

He's not anything special on the court anyway. People thought he'd turn into Lonzo, but he didn't. If it weren't for Lonzo, he wouldn't even be anything more than a middling prospect.

This isn't close to being an accurate take. He actually fits the way we play (on offense). He could definitely fill an immediate need for us especially if Poole, Matthews, and iggy all go pro. If he goes to college, he'll be at a high major school. Effort on defense and shot selection are the two major issues in his game but the kid is really good.

I had to think for a minute when I first read it... “Is this Lavar’s kid?”

No thanks. Probably a nice kid but we don’t need any circus acts. We’ve been doing just fine without any side shows.

If Yaklich can teach LaMelo to play defense, send Yaklich to the Hall of Fame immediately. That would be even more impressive than what he did for Duncan Robinson.

Regarding LaVar, I saw him interviewed on CNN. It was hilarious. He is in on the joke and realizes he is just creating controversy to make a name for himself so he can sell overpriced shoes. If you take LaVar seriously, the joke is on you.

I think Beilein knows what he's doing, and absent what we think we know about a celebrity family, what we know about the character and potential basketball talent of some kid in high school is probably a lot less than we'd imagine. So, stay classy friends.

There is no way JB is interested in signing that circus. Even if there was modest interest, is he even eligible and would JB agree to the bunch of conditions his bozo father would lay out?

Hardest of passes.
