Adjustments and Game Plan

Submitted by Lakeyale13 on November 24th, 2018 at 1:18 PM

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like Ohio State actually looked at our game tape and saw how Indiana exposed us with the crossing routes (as the announcers comment with regularity) and then created a game plan around that exposed weakness.

Yet, with our offense, it looks like we are running the same exact plays we have run all season.  I am no football coach so I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong.  So for all you people with actual football knowledge (unlike me) are we showing any different looks than every other game?

Vanilla got the team here for this moment and they are down by 5, leaving nothing new on tape for OSU to adjust for at halftime. Now is the time where things change. Grind a little more,  keep it close and close it out with little to no time for them to make changes.

This is my feeling as well. Shea has hardly been involved in the run game yet. That has to be strategic. And more RPO’s have to be coming. Not taking advantage of aggressive linebackers in the first half. I’m sticking to this hope that it’s all part of the plan to hit them with reads in the 2nd.

And Bushell-Beatty isn’t in so there’s some adjusting from Stueber to overcome for this game.

And let’s not forget how well Don Brown adjusts at half time. We’ve got it close going into the break. No reason to believe we’re out of this (yet).

I don't know what to tell you other than there are no more extra wrinkles coming.  Same thing every season with Harbaugh's offense.  We think they are going vanilla and saving things, but when you get to the end of the season, we always realize there was nothing they were saving.  Vanilla is the base and the extra toppings.

Osu is doing the same things they've done all year. No reason we aren't doing better defensively. Watson obviously was a strategic target they are picking on.

It is what I was worried about.  Despite that they have played subpar, OSU has superior athletes.  Watson is really struggling.  I wonder if we see Ambry in second half.  We are still in the game.  Offensive game plan was not good but if we play one good half, all is forgiven.

I’m one of the player interviews this week one of the guys (can’t remember who) said they hadn’t really gotten into Gil on OSU yet and I think that was Monday or Tuesday. Thought for sure that was a lie for the reporters but now I’m not so sure... separate from game planning, our Dline isn’t getting any pressure whatsoever. I thought their Oline was supposed to suck?

Every Single Game they go in at the half and talk about what worked what didn't, and come out running the plays that are working.

And then every Monday the same reporters ask "what change did you make at the half, coach _____" that allowed the team to win...

Stop blaming everyone else. Harbaugh is overrated. You don’t want to fire him fine. Enjoy being 2nd in the division for the next 10 years

If pep called today’s game he needs to be fired. If Harbaugh called today’s game he needs to fire pep and get an O coordinator because this shit doesn’t work against better teams. 3 receivers any team in the country would kill to have, a 5 Star qb and we laid that fucking egg. I don’t wanna hear how fast OSU skill players are. We could do the same but choose not to. The game was over when we called a pass the 2nd play of the game and our o line olaied the defensive line for a sack.
