Michigan v. Villanova Basketball tonight 6:30 FS1

Submitted by ijohnb on November 14th, 2018 at 3:52 PM

I think a PSA may be in order about this game.  Never has a National Championship game rematch garnered less attention from a fan base than this one.  I was kind of thinking there would be a preview today or something, a mention, a faint whisper, a fading memory, something, maybe?

Anyway, I get it, there is a lot of football still to be played.  And frankly, if this year follows the same path as, like, every Beilein team except for that one we will lose this game in howling fashion.  But it is a thing that is occurring so just a reminder to check in on it tonight.  Revenge tour continues?  Maybe?  No?

Go Blue.

Win or lose, I'm looking forward to seeing the new lineup/rotation and the young guys.  I think the defense will keep it close, but need to start hitting those 3's.

Honestly I have no idea what this is supposed to be about:

"And frankly, if this year follows the same path as, like, every Beilein team except for that one we will lose this game in howling fashion."

Jeez........the comments in this thread remind me why the U-M Ticket Office called me and gave me a deal on season tickets for MBB. Also found out why each time I've been to Crisler so far this season.

None of the season ticket holders around me have showed up yet and there have been 3 opportunities to go to games.

Guessing no one is gonna show up until UNC in 2 weeks.

Here's to hoping they come out TOUGH. It took Michigan three months to figure it out last year and once they did they were nearly unstoppable.

Hopefully, they play hard and the D keeps it tight. Maybe Poole and Mathews will have big games. I think Teske is the key tonight and they need Brooks to knock down some shots as well. GO BLUE!!!

(Michigan fans need to get on the ball, there's a little bit too much negativity and indifference on here for a program coming off a run to the finals)

BEAT THEY ASS ON THREE. 1...2...3...

Hoping we keep it respectable.  But if not, no major concerns.  Good for the young guys to get this type of competition early.  Beilein teams always improve a lot by year end so gonna watch with interest but not bated breath.

GO BLUE!!

Michigan's 3 point shooting has been abysmal and I don't see it being all that great this whole season (that is not based on these past two games either, rather the last two games and the returning players from last year). But I am afraid they will still put up 25 threes while only making 6 or so.

I think Nova controls this game from start to finish and wins in the teens. I hope I am wrong though

Not expecting much gonna treat this like UNC last year. Anything closer is gravy. A win and we got a turkey dinner

I’m feeling something like a 57-44 loss tonight with some great defense/terrible shooting. I’ve learned not to panic in the beginning of the season though...

I'm stuck at school doing parent teacher conferences, Nova's gametracker thing says they're missing a lot of layups?  Is that true or is it more Teske is altering a lot of shots even if he's not blocking them?

The little white guy for Villinova is hard to guard. He's their biggest weapon so far. Other than that UM has locked them down.

Simpson should not be taking that three.  I can't believe Beilein still hasn't pounded that into him yet.

His drive has been killer tonight though.  Maybe the occasional terrible three is what he needs to open up that drive to the hoop?

This defense is legit. That’s not a surprise, but everything is contested, every pass is made difficult. If they can get Poole and Iggy to be able to knock down 3s consistently, they’ll be good.

Michigan is doing exactly what I thought Nova would do, and Nova is doing exactly what I thought Michigan would do.
