Well, that sucks.

November 12th, 2018 at 9:12 PM ^
Finally got a chance to tune in and watch him for the first time this year and saw that within the first 5 minutes. Feel absolutely terrible for him, he had been having a great season.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:35 PM ^
I blame you
November 12th, 2018 at 9:42 PM ^
Buddy, no need to pile on.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:12 PM ^
Absolutely terrible, he was turning into their best player and having a great season.
November 13th, 2018 at 2:13 AM ^
Yup, probably was on his way to being named most improved player this season.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
Come on man!! This dude just can’t go a year without a horrible injury. He was playing so well too. I was really looking forward to a year of good health coinciding with a breakout season.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:15 PM ^
I'm going to be sick. That's just so cruel to happen to someone who has worked so hard.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:17 PM ^
Yes, heard and felt my stomach turn. Such a wonderful kid, and I have felt so proud about his trajectory. Hopefully there's a quick comeback and further stardom waiting.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:23 PM ^
Ugh. He's one of the nicest, most polite and respectful guys that have ever walked and the injury Devil's keep trying to keep him from walking! He'll have to be the nicest guy hobbling now, again! Jesus Fuck!
November 12th, 2018 at 9:17 PM ^
I just flipped over to YES to check on the score, saw a crowd of trainers -- and a stretcher -- around a player underneath the basket, with the camera panning around the glum faces of players on both teams, and my first thought was "crap, It's got to be Caris."
November 12th, 2018 at 9:17 PM ^
Prayers for the young man.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
Fuck. He was working so hard too for this season and he was breaking out.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:22 PM ^
Just watched it. I wouldn't be surprised if he tore a ligament in his knee also.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:27 PM ^
Yep, his knee buckled and bent sideways
November 13th, 2018 at 12:13 AM ^
Not likely. When one joint goes it's the place that dissipates all the torque. A catastrophic injury in two joints at the same time is very rare. Looking at the video that you posted below, it looks like it's an illusion from the knee turning out as the ankle gives way.
An analogous thing is when you try to tear a paper into three pieces. Take a sheet of paper and tear it slowly along 1/3 lines until there is a small bit left connecting each slit. Then pull on each end of the paper at the outside edges, one of the slits will give out first leaving the other in tact. Similar concept here.

understandable
November 12th, 2018 at 9:59 PM ^
Not a sophisticated "Tweeter", but what type of human "Likes" this tweet?! 689 apparently when I hit the link... condolences, yes, but "Likes"? That's Zach Smith level humanity. Prayers for Caris.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
I don’t think it was anyone celebrating his injury.
Likes don’t always mean someone likes something (as oxymoronic as that sounds). They used to be stars and not hearts so it was less stupid then. Most use likes as a kind of bookmark or to tell the other person, “I saw and appreciate this.”
November 12th, 2018 at 10:45 PM ^
I respectfully and graciously defer to your explanation, as "oxymoronic" as it seems. Like everyone else, just sick for Caris who has been wholly snakebit. Here's to a full recovery and seeing him back to full form. 〽️
November 12th, 2018 at 9:35 PM ^
I just saw the injury. It made we want to vomit. Poor damn Caris.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:35 PM ^
Dammit. He was in the running for Most Improved Player.
That sucks. Get well soon, Caris.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:36 PM ^
Ugh.
I’ve broken my ankle like that (bent the other way, but yeah). Hurts a lot, obviously. I hope that the ligament damage isn’t too severe; that’s harder to heal than the bones.
The timing is awful. He is emerging, but hasn’t yet put up a full year to be established.
Ugh.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:36 PM ^
What tv network is it on? I can't find it on PSVue.
November 12th, 2018 at 11:33 PM ^
Can't answer your question, but had the late news on (in NYC) and the promo for sports after the break was... bad news for Caris. With a shot of him on his back holding his hands over his head.
I figured I'd turn to MGoBlog to commiserate, knowing you'd all know. Crushing.
Last season a friend got Nets tix on poster day. Going through the turnstile I asked the poster-lady who was on it. "Not Caris?," I said. "No thanks." She answered "Yeah, everybody loves Caris." And she was talking about Nets fans, Brooklynites, even before he started showing what he could do.
Sports report back. Describing Caris as a future all-star. Shots of people with heads in their hands, some look like they're weeping. They're not Caris, they're his fans and teammates.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:38 PM ^
Man. The poor guy's feet keep betraying him.
Get well soon Caris.
November 12th, 2018 at 9:42 PM ^
That's horrible for Caris. Hopefully, he can heal, get over the injury bug, and return to form. Keep your head up, young man!
November 12th, 2018 at 9:47 PM ^
What?? NO!!!
/shakes fist at sheer bloodymindedness of the universe
November 12th, 2018 at 9:59 PM ^
Damn....such a nice year going too.
Get well soon!
November 12th, 2018 at 10:00 PM ^
Good God that looked so innocuous. Landed wrong by a split meter angle the wrong way. Damn that sucks.
November 13th, 2018 at 2:17 AM ^
That's probably a landing he's made plenty of times in his life, yet this time it turns out so gruesome. Similar to Gordon Hayward last season.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:13 PM ^
Get well soon Caris. Was really coming into his own this year.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:15 PM ^
Get well soon CL.
Tough week out here in LA , now this.
Better day tomorrow. Go Blue.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:15 PM ^
God damn, he was turning into a bonafide 2 way player and was on track for an all star season. Injuries suck and I wish him nothing but the best
November 12th, 2018 at 10:16 PM ^
That is really unfortunate. He was starting to establish himself as the lead player on that team.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:30 PM ^
Ugh, I'm sick for the kid. He was playing so well and looking to be on his way to a big payday. Hope he bounces back.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:43 PM ^
Ugh even the grainy, muted video made me sick. Feel for the guy, hope his recovery is smooth and speedy.
November 13th, 2018 at 12:12 AM ^
Looked ugly and sad for Caris, but still not as bad as Nick Ward’s ankles after Wagner was done with them.
November 13th, 2018 at 2:18 AM ^
C. Luv was balling this season! A couple days after hitting a game winner, his season ends like this. Get well soon Caris.
November 13th, 2018 at 6:14 AM ^
Dude is a beast. Great talent, but I feel that more than most, his focused optimism, hard work, and persistence were more important for his ascendance than most players in the NBA. He outperformed at every level and literally almost every single year. And always with positivity. Just an incredible dude. A Michigan Man.
November 13th, 2018 at 7:00 AM ^
So sorry to read this. Such a great work ethic.
November 13th, 2018 at 7:01 AM ^
Gruesome injury. Hopefully he can recover. Was playing like a legitimate star.
November 13th, 2018 at 7:15 AM ^
Sucks to hear this. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
November 13th, 2018 at 7:17 AM ^
When I saw a headline that Caris LeVert had been taken to the hospital, my first thought was of another NBA great: Reggie Lewis. Puts a broken ankle in perspective.
November 13th, 2018 at 8:18 AM ^
Sad to see this news. He seems like a great young man that was on his way to a possible All-Star game appearance. Heal quickly.
November 13th, 2018 at 8:32 AM ^
Feel horrible for Caris... He is such a great freaggn guy... Hope he is able to comeback and play... This man deserves to have something go his way...
November 13th, 2018 at 12:41 PM ^
Only a dislocation. Surgery not needed per Nets.
