OT: So.. We deleting the pot threads?
Not sure if this is gonna stay up, but it's a pretty major development. Congrats to the Michigan folk on this board. Looks like you're gonna be able to smoke weed recreationally soon...
If this is treading too close to politics, feel free to delete. But it's not often you get to see the repeal of a decades long prohibition. Guess you won't have to head over to Windsor to try marijuana for your first time...

I moved to Denver about 6 weeks ago. And I can smell it any time I go downtown. Haven’t seen any problems due to pot yet, but it definitely has a large presence.

Happy for the state of Michigan. Never understood why there are some out there who are so adamantly against marijuana when booze and cigarettes are arguably more dangerous.
Been a long, long time since I smoked, but when I did, the only person I ever felt like I was a danger to was myself, solely because of how much I wanted to eat. If I was sober, I was cool with going out for something simple for dinner, walking down to Chipotle or Za's, etc. When I was high, I'd call Pizza House, order a large Chicken Bacon Ranch BLT pizza, eat it all to myself, and not think twice about it.

A data point from Washington state...
$750,000,000. That's how much money the state collected in cannabis taxes last year. A big chunk of it was used to address public school funding. Teachers got a big raise, 15% in our district. The manufacturing and retailing processes are very tightly controlled and audited by the state. Very. Very large scale (looking at you, Altria) growing is not allowed; there is a smallish limit on how much a single company can produce.
The biggest complaint I have is that the police don't enforce the 'no public consumption' rule unless someone complains. So some events, like 4th of July and New Year's Eve fireworks, are near-intolerable for a non-user like me.
Compared to opioids, cannabis seems very tame. I know two people who have its medical use to thank for extending their lives for years; I think the medical benefits are just getting unwrapped (no thanks to the federal ban on research).
I hope Michigan manages it as well or better. I hope your teachers get raises. I hope Flint gets potable water.

As someone who has lived in a recreational pot state for a few years, but works for an employer that prohibits usage, this is one giant MEH.
(But I am looking forward to retirement...)

Medical in Missouri, there is a god. And his name is not Jeff Sessions.
Will we have separate Friday night drinking and smoking threads now?

Don’t smoke or drink. Never wanted to. I never cared about smoking pot, but just be honest about it. You’re not for it so a person with cancer can smoke and feel a little better, you’re for it because of that sweet, sweet high.

That's a mighty broad brush you have there.

Be careful with edibles. And legal weed in general. It can be verrry powerful and potent. I’ve had some good fun with some “legal” California edibles that were well labeled (Plus brand gummies and Korova cookies), so I knew exactly how much I was ingesting. For the first few months of legalization out there, nobody was required to label the THC-levels (shockingly) so people were flipping out left and right and winding up at the ER in a panic. They are required to label the dosage now, and hopefully Michigan does the same.
It takes about two hours for edibles to hit full-on, but when it does you will most definitely know.
About 15mgs of THC gives me a mellow, happy high (and amazing sleep), but like a lot of people, it can get too weird, and rather unpleasant, quick. Take it easy, learn your limits. I love the stuff, but like anything in excess, it can suck. I don’t know much about CBD, but I’m eager to try it.
Personally thrilled at the newfound freedom. I like freedom.

I've been pretty quiet with people concerning this matter, but I think this is a good time to express myself on the whole "getting high" thing and whether or not it should be illegal.
On a personal level, with regard to this legislation, I'm not affected one way or the other. I don't touch the stuff, never did. I knew one guy who did in high school, and to tell the truth he acted like an idiot after smoking it, so that didn't leave me with too good an impression. So while I think it's frankly a stupid habit, if you like it, so be it.
However, that being said, I believe that if you are doing something in violation of the law and are found to be under the influence of any drug while doing it, your penalty should be far more severe, just like with alcohol. Let me give you two accounts for my reasons:
1.) We know that pot was legalized in Colorado. And while there have been no major issues with it on a grand scale, I do know somebody personally whose son lives in Colorado and has admitted that there has been a rise in police pulling people over for impaired driving, and at least some of that impaired driving was due to pot use.
2.) More personally, I worked at a GM plant where a man nearly killed another man while operating a forklift. That man, it was found later on, had been smoking marijuana and was found to esentially be DUI. Should have been fired, but the union rep (a buddy of his) pulled some strings to get him out of it, and he ended up being suspended for a while.
So those of you who got your wish by the legalization of this stuff, congratulations. But if anybody harms anybody else or does something painfully stupid while high, you can be sure that I'll be calling for their heads as much as somebody who's drunk or high on any other drug. You want that freedom, then you'd better be prepared to accept the responsibility that goes along with it. Smoke your crap at home, leave it at home, and be an adult about it. Because not everybody else doing what your doing is going to be as responsible.

Oddly enough one can be pro-pot while also anti-legalization.
Hello guys. Now I want to raise an issue which may sound strange for this forum. Where do you buy cbd oil or other cbd products? I need to know a price because I usually buy on this website and it seems to me quite beneficial but I want to compare it with your services. So, what can you say about it?
