Not sure if this is gonna stay up, but it's a pretty major development. Congrats to the Michigan folk on this board. Looks like you're gonna be able to smoke weed recreationally soon...
If this is treading too close to politics, feel free to delete. But it's not often you get to see the repeal of a decades long prohibition. Guess you won't have to head over to Windsor to try marijuana for your first time...
We all know the glory that is James Franklin's in game coaching, but Clay Helton is making Franklin look... oh, wait, Helton beat Franklin. HAAA!!! Okay, let me start over...
OT-ish, Friday, bye improvement week, etc
I saw a stat that made me think of this the other day - the 2003 "Seven Seconds or Less" Phoenix Suns would play with the slowest pace of any team in today's NBA. They were crazy fast.
Each league has seen a major shift in the last 10-15 years, which is the greatest change? Why?
NFL - Passing explosion (mostly rule changes)
NHL - Speed & skill explosion (definitely post-lockout rule changes)
MLB - Reliever dominance/so many fewer balls in play (more analytics than rule changes?)
Before the 1999 Texas-Oklahoma game, Mike Leach, then an assistant under Bob Stoops in his first year at OU, successfully executed a plan to drop a fake play script for the OU offense. Texas staff picked it up and fell for it, allowing OU to take a 17-0 lead. Unfortunately, Texas was able to come back and win after abandoning the fake OU offensive plan, ruining what is otherwise a delightful story. As always, Mike Leach is awesome.
Almost out of OT time on the board, so get ye to Craigslist, Cars.com, Autotrader.com, or your car buying site of choice and find the best damn dream machine you can for under $10K. Last week we talked about democratizing HP, this week let's cap the price so that we can all equally look for steals.
We've talked first cars a few times, how about the first time you were ever behind the wheel? Was it a parking lot? Fun story? Terrifying experience? Parental advice? Best friend tossing you the keys?
The Bronco is on its way. The Blazer is back (as a crossover, but sure). The resurrected Camaro is on its 3rd face. What now defunct car do you want them to bring back? You'd buy it in a heartbeat... if only they still made it.
Let us know what and why!
We live in a golden age of horsepower. It's recent. A 2006 Ford Mustang GT had 300 horsepower. You can get that in multiple minivans today. Ho hum cars are so fast, they put everything but the craziest supercars of yesteryear to shame. So, what's the most surprising car that your car is faster than?
