So when Michigan ultimately makes it to Indianapolis and earns a spot in the CFP, you'll set aside your recency narrative and admit that MSU has been surpassed once again by the Wolverines and stop with the incessant campaigning against Michigan fans taking pride in their football program being resurgent again?

69-36-5 bitch

Why don’t you go troll on a board where  MSU is actually competitive in the series?  You’re out of your league here skippy.

You get lucky and win tomorrow and the all time record is 69-37-5.  lol.

You do not have to go back to a 1903 almanac. The series that MSU has dominated for sooooo long is 10-10 the last 20 years. 69-36-5 overall 38-29-2 for Paul, 11 national titles to 5 (all of MSU were shared and they have never had an undefeated season) 3 heisman winners to 0, 42 big ten titles to 9, nobody has a winning record against Michigan in the BIG or SEC.

yes Dantonio is 8-3, Schembechler was 17-3 against MSU, Carr was 11-3 aginst MSU,  moeller was 3-1 against MSU.

Harbaugh would be 2-1 if it wasn’t for one of the most miracle plays ever, but he will soon be 2-2.

Thanks for setting some perspective, Rudy. I'd even go a step further and assert that MSU only has 2 national championships. Spartan fans love to claim that they have won 5 or 6 national titles, but they're including minor polls from the AP/UPI era. If you include minor polls, then Michigan can claim national titles in 1964, 1972 and 1985, but we don't because we don't have to artificially inflate our college football record.

athena, where you been?  you made a promise to come back.

and i'm not talking about how sparty got it handed to them at home.  i'm talking about your boorish behavior, juxtaposed against another post of yours that i saw that was pretty cool.  we welcome fans of other teams here (buckeye chuck, nittanyfan, etc) but not when they misbehave.  its okay to cite alternate arguments and stats, just don't be a jerk about it.

suggest you try and show some contrition.  near 100% certainty of a welcoming response.

What an unoriginal, tone-deaf, partisan take on this rivalry.  Let's wheel out all the old tropes about Michigan vs. MSU and cast MSU as the aggrieved party....again.  Michigan is the school of whiners and complainers while noble, unheralded MSU soldiers on quietly, simply putting in work; the unassuming heroes of Big 10.  What a load of tripe.

This article emphasizes the popular narrative amongst the MSU faithful of casting them as the quiet, aggrieved underdog that is always mistreated and dismissed by bad old Michigan.  Completely ignored is the fact that it's MSU that has historically set the tone of this rivalry as petty, ugly, and mean, not Michigan.  You guys are quick to cite Mike Hart, but conveniently forget about Daryl Rogers referring to Michigan as "arrogant asses" after an upset in 1978, or George Perles digging that the "tougher team won" after upsetting the Wolverines in 1990, or the numerous barbs fired off by Dantonio.  MSU has never treated success as an expectation, just an opportunity to rub Michigan' nose in the disappointment, secretly knowing that they need to make hay while they can, because the glory is all-too-likely fleeting.

If MSU pulls off a win on Saturday, I'm sure you and other trolling rivals like yourself will flood this board with comments on how Michigan and Harbaugh have proven themselves overrated; and of course, if Michigan wins, you won't be here at all, unwilling to face any kind of retribution for the pregame shade you've chosen to throw our way, which is the way of the coward, and the way of the Spartan.

To be fair, there is certainly enough unseemly fan/player behavior to go around on behalf of both sides over the course of this rivalry, as neither fan base has been known to win with particular grace over the years.

That said, I appreciate your thoughtful reply, it was about 600% better than the riff-raff that responded above. I also don't entirely disagree with most of what you said. I suppose that the real narrative can be found somewhere in the middle as it often is. I suppose it just depends on which perspective you are viewing things.

I really have tried to keep it civil and avoid being labeled a troll here. But some of the posters are just so insufferable (not unlike many MSU fans) that I had to chime in.

Nevertheless, I will be here tomorrow to either gloat or take the abuse that I am due, depending on the outcome.

Looking forward to a good (non-blow-out) game tomorrow.

Best wishes.

Win or lose you have no reason to come back here.  Your team is 69-36-5 against its main “rival” and your “university” covered up for the worst child rapist in the history of child rapists.

You should hang your head in shame, skippy.

I feel sorry for you, skippy.

Your wife left you, you live in a trailer with your mom,  you’re on welfare and spend most days collecting roadkill.

And today you learn your favorite team is 36-69-5 against its main “rival” and the University you support covered up the biggest child rape scandal in the history of child rape scandals.

It must suck to be you, Skippy.

Cite them.  I'm not talking about some random fan quote on a message board.  Aside from Mike Hart show me a visible representative of the University of Michigan football program that has publically insulted MSU the way Dantonio and other MSU coaches have in the past.  This narrative that Michigan goes around belittling MSU with regularity is a trope and is a hand way overplayed by Sparty to legitimize decades of boorish behavior on their part.

69-36-5

poor sparty asshats could live to be 150 and still never enjoy a winning record vs Michigan.

MSU, historically, is Indiana plus the rapists.
