Yeah but what about Hobson?
August 26th, 2018 at 5:42 PM ^
Higdon yes... Jury still out on Hobson. Hearing he probably will NOT be making an appearance haha
August 26th, 2018 at 5:42 PM ^
He's hobbling around but should be fine.
August 26th, 2018 at 5:48 PM ^
There are Victor Hobson days until the ND game
August 26th, 2018 at 6:45 PM ^
I hear that Hobson's a choice.
August 26th, 2018 at 5:42 PM ^
Who brought the soccer ball?
August 26th, 2018 at 5:43 PM ^
Hobson is a leader out there......would be a loss.
August 26th, 2018 at 5:52 PM ^
First OL: LT: Runyan
LG: Bredeson
C: Ruiz
RG: Onwenu
RT: JBB
August 26th, 2018 at 5:56 PM ^
I bet it's several notches better than last year's line with Warriner coaching them now.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
One thing is certain, there will be consistency. Ed Warinner is big on consistency.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:25 PM ^
JBB out there still scares me tho
August 26th, 2018 at 6:36 PM ^
A little, but maybe Warinner helps him “turn the light on”. Not saying he’ll suddenly be a road grater, but he could easily become serviceable.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:43 PM ^
He IS a road grader. Run blocking isn’t his problem. Pass blocking is.
August 26th, 2018 at 7:39 PM ^
He’s already a road grater. The man can run block. Just can’t pass protect (yet).
Maybe he just needed Warriner to unlock that potential.
August 26th, 2018 at 8:37 PM ^
back in the old 2.0 days, i'd have some slick attempt at humor comment, and i'd post a picture of
1. a cheese grater
2. a road grader
please use your imagination, pretend i was witty, and enjoy yourselves.
August 26th, 2018 at 9:05 PM ^
this road grater analogy is mind bottling
August 26th, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
The former not being required until oct 13th
August 26th, 2018 at 5:59 PM ^
Was really hoping one of the young kids would win a tackle job.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:00 PM ^
A little bummed that Hudson is not starting.
August 27th, 2018 at 1:01 AM ^
Yea, but a Redshirt freshman getting his first start of his career in primetime, on the road, at night, in Notre Dame, against a top 25 team probably isn't the best decision. Rather go with the safest choice right away and ease in Hudson.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:02 PM ^
Me too.
I guess now we just hope that the older guys have made that "senior leap."
August 26th, 2018 at 6:05 PM ^
Some insider said he may be starting by the end of the year.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
Makes sense to start JBB due to game experience. JBB is generally solid although not great. You don't want a youngster starting on the road against a very good defense. They can work in Hudson over time and then he becomes the starter by midseason.
August 26th, 2018 at 11:01 PM ^
^^ This post, for the win.
August 26th, 2018 at 11:39 PM ^
They’ll have to scheme around JBB on pass plays. Rock solid run blocker, just needs some help from an Asisi or Wheatley type, shit!
August 27th, 2018 at 12:13 PM ^
St. Francis could block like a mofo. Dude was a mauler.
August 26th, 2018 at 11:42 PM ^
First game is an away game at night against a ranked team. I like the idea of starting a senior and a fifth year senior at the tackle spots. If one of the young guys steps up and takes a job early in the season, I am fine with that.
P.S. I looked at the UFR’s from last season and JBB was no worse at pass blocking than Onwenu, Kugler or Bredeson.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:13 PM ^
JBB is a surprise...unless Hudson gets the start in game 2.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:14 PM ^
JBB is the right choice.
August 26th, 2018 at 6:19 PM ^
Are you scared of Mayfield and Hudson as our OT if one of them gets injured?
Is Runyan athletic enough to hand the left side or will they always have a RB or TE to help on his side?
Praying that Nico and Oliver are ready to contribute!
August 26th, 2018 at 6:22 PM ^
Mayfield has struggled with run blocking. Not ready for B1G. Hudson is very close!
August 26th, 2018 at 6:26 PM ^
I think Hudson becomes the starter by mid season
August 27th, 2018 at 10:00 AM ^
Maybe by game 2...
August 26th, 2018 at 9:04 PM ^
I noticed that you didn't address the point about Runyan. I get it, but yeah, that's one big reason my enthusiasm for this season is not what it has been in the past.
August 26th, 2018 at 5:59 PM ^
they are broadcasting on facebook live right now. Not sure about other places they might be streaming it

On the video I noticed Kelly-Powell wasn't with the safeties, might be something to keep an eye on.

He’s been working a lot at Nickel as well as safety.

Appreciate that, I might of missed him or the nickel guys may have been in a seperate group while they were showing the safeties hitting the donuts.

I haven’t seen Ben St. Juste today with the CBs. Is he hurt? I know he’s not in the two deep but still expected to see him on the field.
